Inventory of Hillcrest Cemetery, Heuvelton NY (Township of Oswegatchie)

NOTE: In the fall of 2001 I visited Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton, which is within the township of Oswegatchie to photograph and record the tombstones within the cemtery. Below is the inventory I developed during those visits. Pictures are available for most if not all names. When a picture is available, the name of the person will be 'clickable' to bring up the picture. Unfortunately, some of the pictures are not as good as I would like. My time up north for the summer was running low and the weather was not very cooperative (some pictures were taken in the rain). I plan to track the pictures that need to be redone and hope to accomplish that when I get back to New York next summer.

At the bottom of this page is a sketch I have done of the cemetery layout. The numbering of the sections is purely my own. Basically, I just broke the cemetery into sections at the places where I found 'walkways' of grass with no gravesites. I'm sure there is a real numbering scheme for the cemetery, but I didn't have access to it. The sketch is very rough, but hopefully provides some guidance for anyone trying to navigate their way around.
