This Indenture made the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two Between Nicholas Low of the city of New York in the county and State of New York, Merchant and Alice his Wife, John Delafield of the same place, Merchant and Ann his Wife, Nicholas Gouverneur of the same place Merchant and Hester his wife, Edward W. Laight, William Laight, Charles Laight, Henry Laight, Maria Laight and Benjamin Laight, Children and heirs and Frances Laight Widow of William Laight of the City in the county and State aforesaid Merchant deceased of the first part; and Samuel Reynolds of the city in the county and State aforesaid Merchant of the second part. Whereas the said Nicholas Low, John Delafield and Nicholas Gouverneur parties of the first part, the said Samuel Reynolds the party of the second part and the said William Laight deceased, were in the life time of the said William Laight deceased seised in fee as Tenants in Common in All that certain Tract or parcel of Land being the Nothereasterly Moiety or half part of the Township of Stockholm in the present County of Saint Lawrence in the State aforesaid, excepting from and out of the same the Lot reserved for the use of Schools being Lot number fifty five in the said Township and whereas for the partition of the said Moiety of the said Township (except as aforesaid) and for other purposes, the said Township was surveyed and laid out into Lots each containing six hundred and forty acres of land, fifty of which Lots composed the Northeasterly Moiety of the said Township and whereas for the partition of the said Northeastern Moiety of the said Township it was agreed among the said proprietors thereof to draw by ballot for the said fifty Lots, except the one so as aforesaid reserved for the use of Schools, and that any inequality which might thereupon arise should be compensated by the persons who should draw more than their proportions of the said Lands by their paying in cash to equalize the said partition at the rate of six shillings for every acre of the said Lands which they should respectively so draw as aforesaid more than their respective proportions thereof, to be paid to the persons who should draw less than their respective proportions of the said Lands and whereas the said partition was made in consequence of and conformity to the said agreement and whereupon the several lots numbered five, fourteen, fifteen, twenty three, twenty four, twenty five, thirty three, thirty four, forty five, fifty three, sixty three, sixty four, seventy three, seventy four, eighty three and ninety three and the Northeasterly Moiety or half part of Lot number thirty five were drawn fair and fell to the share of the said Samuel Reynolds, as by a writing under the hands of the said Nicholas Low, John Delafield and Nicholas Gouverneur parties of the first part, the said Samuel Reynolds the party of the second part and the said William Laight deceased indorsed upon a copy of the map of the said Moiety of the said Township reference being thereunto had may appear and whereas the said Edward W. Laight, William Laight, Charles Laight, Henry Laight, Maria Laight, and Benjamin Laight are the heirs at Law and the said Frances Laight the Widow of the said William Laight deceased who died intestate since the making of the said agreement no deeds having as yet been executed for carrying the said agreement into effect, and upon the said partition the Lands which were drawn to the share of the said Samuel Reynolds fell short three hundred and forty five acres of the quantity of Land to which he was entitled and for which the said parties are to pay as aforesaid. Now therefore this Indenture Witnesseth that in order to carry the said partition into effect and for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt where is hereby acknowledged the said parties of the first part Have granted bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and do hereby clearly and absolutely grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all those several whole lots pieces or parcels of Land parts of the said Township of Stockholm numbered five, fourteen, fifteen, twenty three, twenty four, twenty five, thirty three, thirty four, forty five, fifty three, sixty three, sixty four, seventy three, seventy four, eighty three and ninety three each containing six hundred and forty acres of Land be the same more or less, and also the Northeasterly Moiety of the Lot number thirty five of the said Township the same to be divided into two equal half parts by a line to be drawn through the middle of the said lot parallel to the Northeastern boundary line thereof, with the rights members and appurtenances of the same and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the Estate Right Title Interest dower property claim and demand whatsoever in Law and Equity of them the said parties of the first part or either of them in or to the same Lands and premises and every part thereof To have and To hold the said Lands and premises and every part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns for ever and the said Nicholas Low, John Delafield, Nicholas Gouverneur, Edward W. Laight, William Laight, Charles Laight, Henry Laight, Maria Laight, Benjamin Laight, and Frances Laight, do hereby for themselves respectively and their respective heirs executors and administrators but not jointly or one for the other covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns shall and forever hereafter lawfully may have hold occupy and enjoy the said Lots and part of a Lot of land and premises hereby granted and released and every part thereof with the appurteances without the lawful let hindrance interruption or denial of the said parties of the first part respectively or their respective heirs or assigns or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim anything in the premises by from or under them respectively; and that free and clear from all incumbrances whatso ever by them the said parties of the first part respectively had made committed done or suffered. In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have here unto interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

State of New York; On the 4 June 1802 before me came Nicholas Low and Alice his wife, John Delafield and Ann his wife, Nicholas Gouverneur and Hester his wife, Frances Laight, Edward W. Laight, William Laight and Charles Laight, all known to me to be the persons of those names described in and who have executed the written deed, all of whom did acknowledge that they had executed the same. The said Alice, Anne and Hester being by me examined privately and apart from their husbands, confessed that they had so executed the same freely without any fear or compulsion of their respective husbands, there being therein no material crossed or interliniations, I allow it to be recorded.
