She married George Peters [PHOTO], son of Richard Peters and Mary Polly (Wilcox) on 10 Jun 1845 in Monroe, Michigan. George was born on 21 Sep 1822 in Harpersfield, Delaware Co., New York. Their first two children died in infancy.

They resided in Monroe County, Michigan where George's family had settled in 1824. As a child, he and his siblings played with the Indian children and were constantly in their father's store and watched their father's ferry as it crossed the River Raisin. The family's relations with the Indians were always friendly and his father Richard Peters was known to them as "White Chief Peters."

George and Mary were enumerated in the Monroe Co. George died on 11 Jan 1912 in Petersburg, and Mary on 27 Mar 1916 at the home of her son Richard G. Peters. They were laid to rest in Petersburg Cemetery.
