1830 Family Bible of Josiah & Rachel (Morrison) Swann
FOUND IN DUMPSTER IN NEW MARTINSVILLE, WV!!!
In October 2015, a man found a Bible in a trach dumpster in New Martinsville, WV where an old house was being demolished. He retrieved it and took it to a friend at the Monroe County OH Genealogical Society. Upon examining the bible, she found "Cabell County VA" written in it, along with several pages of genealogical information for the Josiah Swann family. After searching the internet, she came upon this website and matched up several of the names. She then contacted me and I confirmed the bible, copyrighted in 1830, belonged to my 3rd great grandfather Josiah Swann. It was mailed to me and afterward WOWK tv in Huntington did a news story on the bible's journey.
