CLARIBEL "PAT" (BREAZEALE) BUCHANAN Claribel "Pat" B. Buchanan, 86, beloved wife for 63 years of Jack W. Buchanan, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday in the Transitional Care Unit at Clark Regional Medical Center. She was born May 14, 1921, in Kingston, Tenn., the daughter of the late Carl Samuel and Maude Moore Breazeale. She was a graduate of Berea College and was the University of Kentucky extension agent for home economics in Clark County for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Winchester for more than 60 years. Other survivors include her children, Dr. Jack (Fran) Buchanan Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., and Judith (Robert) Puckett of Winchester; grandchildren, Christopher William Buchanan of New Orleans, Elizabeth Lugin Buchanan of Chicago, Steven Todd (Rebecca) Puckett of Lexington, and Rodman Clay (Carrie) Puckett of Winchester; and four great-granddaughters, Maggie Elizabeth and Caroline Noel Puckett of Lexington, and Julia Rose and Isla Clay Puckett of Winchester. She is also survived by two brothers, C.W. (Hassie) Breazeale of Morristown, Tenn., and Dr. Mack A. (Lou) Breazeale of Oxford, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 32 E. Lexington Ave., with Dr. John E. Owen and Don Burkhead officiating. Burial will be in Winchester Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Scobee Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Chris Buchanan, Todd Puckett, Roddy Puckett, Coos Ockers, Bill Pumphrey and John Pumphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ava Tyler Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church.
