- A Family Reunion
- A family reunion was held near Unionville, on Aug.7, 1900 at the old homestead of Bryant & Margaret Landis, deceased, this being the place where the latter was born, reared and died. Unto them were born ten children, five of whom have passed over the river. Those present were Dr. John A. Landis, wife and daughters Miss Nettie, Mrs. Sue Brady and son, Richard, all of texas. W.H.Landis and wife of Bellbuckle. From Unionville, Dr. G.L.Landis, wife and Daughters Alia and Florence, sons Robbie, George L. and Dorris. James A. Landis, wife and daughters Mary, Nannie, Eva, and Maggie, sons Leonard, John Richard, Clinton, Willie and Howard. Mrs. Nannie E. Landis widow of Richard Landis, and daughters Mary and Mrs. Cora Sheffield and husband and daughter, Christine, sons Ewing, John Bryant and Marion. Mrs. Mollie Landis, widow of Robert Landis, Daughters Nannie Moore, Sue Brady and Addie, sons George Bryant, Clarence Spencer and Oscar Bell. Mrs. Nannie Landis Rushing, of Lebanon.
- There were present 28 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren absent 21 grand children and 17 great grandchildren. The tables groaned beneath their burden of good things and all enjoyed the day.
- The long to be remembered part was the service in the evening. All gathered in the old parlor where so many pleasant hours have been spent and had a religious service, led by the oldest brother, Dr. J.A. Landis which consisted of Scripture reading, prayer, and songs, with a few remarks. This will be a "green spot" in the life of all present and long to be remembered.
