Henry Wysor Will of 1840
I Henry Wysor Sr.
of Pulaski County, VA this 8th day of June 1840 make this my last will and
Testament. After paying my debts I make
the following disposition of my real as well as personal estate. I give to my son James Wysor the Tract of
land I now live on containing about 420 acres together with the farming
utentials distillary and all other appertainances belonging to the domain and
confirm the gift of all the stock of every description now on the place claimed
by him.
I also devise to my
son James Wysor my old negro woman Tilda, also my man Charles and boy Henry
provided he pays to the rest of my children their equal proportions of $1000
dollars at which I value the two negroes.
I desire my executors hereafter named in a reasonable time after my death to sell my interest in
the tract of land purchased of Jacob Shearman called the Being and tract
containing about 540 acres more or less together with the appertainances
thereunto belonging and the proceeds to be equally divided among my children,
Henry Wysor, James Wysor, Polly Dills, Elizabeth Grayson & Caty
Blackwell. Having made a valuation and
division of my property real and personal, except the above named; among some
of my children on the 5th day of Dec. 1835, I desire that division and
distribution to stand as their made;
and that each of my children be made equal in that division by those of them
receiving by that division over their share paying to those receiving less than
their share so as to make them equal. I
hereby constitute and appoint my sons Henry Wysor, Jr. and James Wysor my
exutors with power and authority for any one or both to sell or convey the real
estate as above recited. Given under my
hand and seal the day and year above written.
