Oscar Keister Will of 1907

 

O. R. J. Keister Will. 

I O. R. J. Keister being of sound mind do hereby make and constitute this my last will and testament:

First: I will and bequeath to my beloved daughter Dorrie F. Davis the sum of ($600.00) six hundred dollars.  2nd I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret A Broce the sum of ($450.00) four hundred fifty dollars.

Third: I give and bequeath to my daughter Amanda M. Kirk the sum of ($150.00) one hundred and fifty dollars.

Fourth:  As I expect to make my permanent home with Ellen Kinzer, I give and bequeath to her the remainder of my money when collected which will be ($675.00) six hundred and seventy-five dollars.

Fifth:  As I have given my son Richard a farm and farming implements valued at the of ($1600.00) sixteen hundred dollars, It is my wish and desire that he, my son, before mentioned will not bring up an account against his said sisters for what time I might board with my said son.  I also wish him to collect and distribute to his sisters as before mentioned or written above.  This is to be done without commission.

I also give to my son my watch at my decease.  If there be any residue over the ($1775.00) Seventeen hundred and and seventy-five dollars, as petitioned amongst my said four daughters it is to be divided among them alike.

Given under my hand this 25th day of April Nineteen hundred and seven.

Signed Sealed and published by the testator as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses this 25th day of April 1907.

Virginia.  In the Clerks office of the Circuit Court of Montgomery County the 17th day of February 1911.

A paper dated the 25th day of April 1907 purporting to be the last will and testament of O. R. J. Keister deceased was produced in office Delivered by J..R. Keister and was this day proven by the oath of H. Harman one of the subscribing witnesses thereunto...
