Ruth Hanks Vaughan Will of 1876

 

Ruth Vaughan's last Will & Testament. 

I, Ruth Vaughan of the County of Carroll and state of Virginia, do hereby make my last will and testatment in manner and form following, that is to say.

I give to my two grand children Rufus M. Vaughan and Ollie M. Vaughan, his wife, all my property of every kind and description.  And I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Elisha B. Vaughan Executor of this my last will and testament.  I desire that my Executor shall not be required to give any bond and also desire that my property shall not be appraised.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 2nd day of June, 1876.

Virginia.  In Carroll County Court March 17, 1879

This writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Ruth Vaughan, deceased, was this day produced in Court and the execution thereof proved by the oaths of A. J. Philippi and Ellis F. Vaughan two of the subscribing witnesses and was ordered  to be recorded.  And ----  on motion of Elisha B. Vaughan, the Executor named in said will, who made oath in due form, certificate is granted him for obtaining probate of said will in due form.
