2.  Daniel HOWELL (151); born 1759 in Philadelphia, PA;[1] married Frances ? (2281) circa 1784;[2] died March 5, 1836 in Floyd County, VA.[3]

     He began military service in 1778, a Revolutionary War veteran. 

VIRGINIA SERVICE   OF DANIEL HOWEL OR HOWELL S 13413 ; Page 11---    (born in : Pennsylvania).       

     “DECLARATION was filed in Floyd County Virginia by Daniel Howell Senr. personlally in said county 21 September 1833 July 13. States that, in his first tour served under Capt. Joshua Wilson of one month- which was an early period of the war Summer of 1778. 2nd tour was within one year after his first--declarant by reason of his great age and time can not recollect than to say that it was the CHEROKEE EXPEDITION and he thinks he left home August following the June in which he recd certificate of discharge - -he returned early in the winter of --- went on 3rd expedition - last tour completed just before the battle of Guilford Court House N C .

      He served at least nine months

     States he was BORN in Philadelphia Co. Pennsylvania 1759, He removed from his present residence soon or not very long after the revolution, moved, not out his present neighborhood into the adjoining county of PATRICK where he remained about 5 years Then he returned into the county where he now resides -to wit; FLOYD CO. VA

Declaration in Floyd Co Va 1836 June 20, on motion of FRANCES HOWELL widow of Daniel Howell dec'd. That pensioner Daniel Howell died intestate March 5, 1836, that he intermarried with said Frances Howell and she is still  alive. 

     It was stated he enlisted from Botetourt Co. Va, that he served on Cherokee Expedition, Reedy Fork of Haw river.[4]

     "DANIEL HOWEL, 37 acres Mill Creek branch of Little River" in 1790 in Botetourt Co., VA.[5]

     "1794, JACOB PECK from Daniel Howel, 104 acres west fork, Little River" in Montgomery Co., VA.[6]

 

     Frances ? (2281); was born circa 1760.[7]

     Children of Daniel Howell (151) and Frances ? (2281) were as follows:

           7.        i.    Thomas (2241); born circa 1785.[8]

+         8.        ii.    Mark (154), born 1788 in Floyd Co., VA; married Susannah Helton (2252).

+         9.      iii.    David N. (152), born 1791 in Floyd Co., VA; married Nancy Carter (2156).

+       10.       iv.    John (153), born 1802 in Floyd Co., VA; married Sarah Rakes (2261).

 

4.  David HOWELL Sr. (130); born 1764 in PA;[9] married Jane Allen (131), daughter of Daniel Allen (147) and Jane ? (148), October 28, 1785 in Botetourt County, VA;[10] died 1851 in Floyd County, VA.[11]

     "1790, DAVID HOWELL from Daniel Allen and wife, Ruth, 67 acres on Little River." in Montgomery Co., VA.[12]

     He was a farmer in 1850 in Floyd Co., VA.[13]

 

     Jane ALLEN (131) was born in 1766 in Floyd County, VA.[14] She died circa 1855 in Floyd County, VA.

     Children of David Howell Sr. (130) and Jane Allen (131) were as follows:

         12.        ii.    Elizabeth (139);[16] born circa 1795; married ? Hewitt (140).

         13.      iii.    Jenny (141);[17] born circa 1795; married ? Hungate (142).

         14.       iv.    Stephen (134);[18] born circa 1795.

         15.       v.    Charity (135);[19] born circa 1795; married ? Speakleman (136).

+       16.       vi.    David A. (119), born January 5, 1801 in Floyd County, VA; married Charlotte Pratt (2284).

         17.     vii.    Rhodea (132); born 1810 in Floyd Co., VA.[20]

+       18.     viii.    James (143), born 1811 in Floyd County, VA; married Catherine Russell (144).

         19.       ix.    Naomia (133); born 1820 in Floyd Co., VA.[21]

 

5.  Benjamin HOWELL (155); born 1772 in Floyd Co., VA;[22] married Elizabeth Kendall (156) December 1, 1802 in Montgomery County, VA;[23] died 1853 in Montgomery County, VA.[24]

     Benjamin Howell was listed in the July 15, 1802 survey as the owner of 40 acres in Montgomery Co., VA.[25] He was listed as the owner of 110 acres on July 15, 1804 in Montgomery Co., VA.[26] Benjamin posted bond to secure appointment of William Thompson as constable on June 6, 1809 in Montgomery Co., VA.[27] He was the Justice of the Peace in Floyd Co., VA.[28]

 

     Elizabeth KENDALL (156) was born in 1778 in VA.[29] She died circa 1855.[30]

     Children of Benjamin Howell (155) and Elizabeth Kendall (156) were as follows:

+       21.        ii.    Pleasant (157), born 1814 in Floyd Co., VA; married Adeline ? (2214).

         22.      iii.    Ann (158); born 1820 in Floyd Co., VA.[32]

         23.       iv.    Nancy (159); born 1829 in Floyd Co., VA;[33] married Henry H. Thompson (5512) April 6, 1848 in Floyd Co., VA.[34]
