Generation Two

 

 

2.  Philip2 (John Philip) KEISTER Jr. (Philip1); born June 7, 1753; died November, 1835 in Montgomery Co., VA, at age 82. [1],[2],[3]

     He is listed as a buyer in the Philip Barger sale of estate on October 21, 1802 in Montgomery Co., VA.[4]

 

     Children of Philip2 Keister Jr. and an unknown spouse were as follows:

              7.          i.     Marathana3; born November 8, 1778.[5]

              8.          ii.     Polly; born circa 1780. [6]  Polly may be Marathana’s nickname.  Polly is listed as daughter in Philip Jr.’s will but Marathana is not.

              9.        iii.     Elizabeth “BETSY”; born October 21, 1786; married Philip Bumgardner September 6, 1804 in Montgomery Co., VA.[7],[8]

+          10.         iv.     John, born October 16, 1789; married Sarah Martin.

            11.         v.     George; born January 27, 1794 in VA;[9],[10] married Christina Walters circa 1820; died after 1860.[11]

     He was a farmer in 1855 in Montgomery Co., VA.[12] A male slave was born on the Keister farm.  Possibly this was a different George Keister.  This one is most likely because he was the most wealthy on April 10, 1855 in Montgomery Co., VA.[13] He lived in 1860 in Montgomery Co., VA and owned $5000 in real estate and $1750 in personal property.[14]

            12.         vi.     Susanna; born August 4, 1799;[15] married Isaac Henderliter August 25, 1825 in Montgomery County, VA.[16]

 

3.  Peter2 KEISTER Sr. (Philip1); born circa 1765 in prob. Rockingham Co., VA;[17] married Elizabeth Schreyer, daughter of Lewis Schreyer and Susan ?, 1789 in Rockingham Co., VA;[18] died 1839 in Montgomery County, VA.[19]

 

     Elizabeth SCHREYER was born circa 1770.[20] She died circa 1860.[21],[22]

     Children of Peter2 Keister Sr. and Elizabeth Schreyer were as follows:

+          13.          i.     Elizabeth3, born circa 1793 in Rockingham Co., VA; married Alexander Price Jr.

+          14.          ii.     Jacob, born 1795 in Rockingham Co., VA; married Margaret Lear.

            15.        iii.     Sarah “SALLY”; born 1797 in Rockingham Co., VA;[23] married Frederick Barger December 2, 1815 in Montgomery County, VA.[24]    

+          16.         iv.     Mary, born circa 1800 in Montgomery County, VA; married Philip Barger.

+          17.         v.     Henry Sr., born circa 1801 in Rockingham Co., VA; married ? Olinger.

+          18.         vi.     Peter Jr., born 1802 in Montgomery County, VA; married Catherine Shell.

+          19.       vii.     John P. Sr., born June 3, 1804 in Montgomery County, VA; married Mary Cook.

            20.       viii.     Catherine; born circa 1805. [25]

            21.         ix.     Susannah “SUSAN”; born circa 1806 in Montgomery County, VA. [26]

+          22.         x.     Allen David, born 1807 in Montgomery County, VA; married Elizabeth Olinger.

            23.         xi.     George Allen; born 1809 in Rockingham Co., VA; married Sarah Joe Stewart 1852.[27]
