97.  John H.5 KEISTER (William4, John3, Philip2, Philip1); born July 1, 1842 in Montgomery Co., VA;[1] married Ella Brazeal December 20, 1866 in Montgomery Co., VA;[2] married Mary Martin 1871; married Sallie Webb 1898; died November 4, 1913 at age 71. [3]

     He was a farm laborer on his father's farm in 1860.  He was a farmer in 1866 in Giles Co., VA.[4],[5]

     A Civil War veteran, John began military service on August 31, 1861 in Camp Ellis, Giles Co., VA when he enlisted in the 24th VA INF, Co. F at age 18.  Admitted to Petersburg Hospital on April 12, 1862 with debilitas.  Returned to duty on May 7, 1862. He was absent without leave on July 1, 1863.  Joined 36th VA Battalion CAV on April 4, 1864.  Paroled on 6/16/65 at Charleston, WVA.  He was described as 5'10 with dark complexion and dark hair and dark eyes circa 1863.      Ella BRAZEAL was born in 1847 in Amelia Co., VA. She died circa 1870. [7]

     Children of John H.5 Keister and Ella Brazeal were:

+        308.          i.     Pearl M.6, married Willie L. Carner; born December, 1868 in VA.

 

     Mary MARTIN was born circa 1845. She died circa 1895. [8]

     Children of John H.5 Keister and Mary Martin were as follows:

          309.          i.     Edward W.6; born 1873 in VA; married Constance Carner circa 1898; died after 1920.  He lived in 1920 in Radford, VA. [9]

          310.          ii.     Minnie Lee; born circa 1880; married ? Camper. [10]

          311.        iii.     Allie Virginia; born circa 1880; married Harry Griswold. [11]

          312.         iv.     Maggie; born circa 1880; married Floyd Price. [12]

          313.         v.     Carrie; born circa 1880; married Ernest Durham. [13]

          314.         vi.     Wiley; born circa 1880.  He remained unmarried.[14]

          315.       vii.     Harry; born circa 1880.  He remained unmarried.[15]

 

     Sallie WEBB was born circa 1850. [16]

     There were no children of John H.5 Keister and Sallie Webb.

 

 

98.  Margaret A.5 KEISTER (William4, John3, Philip2, Philip1); born December 12, 1843 in VA;[17] married Robert H. Kinzie December 20, 1866; died August 30, 1917 at age 73. [18]

     She was a domestic worker in her father's house in 1860 in Giles Co., VA.[19]

 

     Robert H. KINZIE[20] was born on January 27, 1845. He died on April 30, 1934 at age 89.[21]

     Children of Margaret A.5 Keister and Robert H. Kinzie were as follows:

          316.          i.     Alfred Peck6; born January 15, 1868; married Mary G. Arrington September 8, 1897; died September 12, 1924 at age 56.[22]

          317.          ii.     James Bittle; born July 23, 1869; died September 13, 1917 at age 48.[23]

     He remained unmarried.[24]

          318.        iii.     Stella R.; born June 19, 1873; married J. H. Woody August 22, 1894; died September 30, 1930 at age 57.[25]

          319.         iv.     Pearl R.; born June 29, 1875; married Ada Treadway circa 1900; died May 18, 1937 at age 61.[26]

          320.         v.     Harriet Luella; born November 27, 1876; married William O. Carper December 21, 1898.[27]

          321.         vi.     Frank Ward; born August 29, 1878; married Lucy Ellen Price December 19, 1907; died April 11, 1941 at age 62.[28]
