Descendants of Frederick Keister II (1730-1815)

 

 

              Frederick Keister II is the older brother of Philip Keister.  His descendants were located in the Pendleton Co., VA (later WV) area.

 

Generation One

 

1.  Frederick KEISTER II (3044);[1] born 1730 in Germany;[2] married Hannah Dyer (2887) circa 1755;[3] died November 28, 1815 and buried in the Keister Cemetery near Brandywine, Pendleton Co., WV[4]

     He immigrated to America from Germany in 1737.[5] He began military service circa 1776.  In the Revolutionary War Frederick Keister served as a Lieutenant leading his own company.[6]

 

     Hannah DYER (2887)[7] She was born in 1735 in Pennsylvania.[8] She died in 1820.[9]

              Hannah came to the Augusta County settlement with her parents.  She married Frederick Keister, Sr., about 1755 who came to the settlement about the same time.  Hannah had 2 children on the dreadful day of 4/28/1758 when all in Ft. Seybert were massacred or taken captive by Indians.  It is believed that she and her sister, Ester (Dyer) Patton, were visiting relatives in the Shenendoah Valley at this time.[10]

     Children of Frederick Keister II (3044) and Hannah Dyer (2887) were as follows:

+         2.        i.    James (250), born 1756; married Elizabeth Jane Davis (864).

+         3.        ii.    Hannah (314), born circa 1757; married George Hall (865).

           4.      iii.    ? (858);[11] born circa 1760.

+         5.       iv.    Sarah (2678), born 1762 in Virginia; married Burton Blizard (2677).

+         6.       v.    Esther (860), born circa 1767; married Adam Hull (866).

           7.       vi.    Mary (861); born circa 1771;[12] married Gabriel Kyle (867) 1799 in Pendleton Co., VA.[13]

+         8.     vii.    Frederick III (862), born 1774 in VA; married Ann E. Propst (2921); married Belinda Gunn (2922).

+         9.     viii.    George Sr. (863), born February 5, 1776 in Pendleton Co., WV; married Susannah Peck (870); married Mary Ann Jordan (3042).
