14.  Jacob SHELL III (404); born 1792;[1] married Catharine Price (415) September 9, 1811 in Montgomery Co., VA.[2]

     “1811  Sept. 9, JACOB SHELL, JUNR. (Jr.) and CATHERINE PRICE, sur. Henry D. Price (signed in German script); consent of father Jacob Shell, Senr. (Sr.).”

     Catharine PRICE (415) was born in 1794.[3]

     Children of Jacob Shell III (404) and Catharine Price (415) were as follows:

            31.          i.       James (4588); born 1834.[4]

            32.         ii.        Margaret (4589); born 1839.[5]

 

16.  John Henry SHELL (405); born 1793 in VA;[6] married Hannah Linkous (4023), daughter of Henry Lincoss Sr. (4177), March 25, 1817 in Montgomery Co., VA;[7] died after 1880.[8]

     He was a farmer with $6300 in real estate in 1850 in Montgomery Co., VA.[9] He lived with his daughter, Lavinia Ellen Keister and her husband Harman Keister in 1880 in Blacksburg District, Montgomery Co., VA.[10]

 

     Hannah LINKOUS (4023)[11] was born circa 1800.

     Children of John Henry Shell (405) and Hannah Linkous (4023) were as follows:

            33.          i.       Harriet (4171); born 1819 in Montgomery Co., VA;[12],[13] died of typhoid fever in

1862 in Montgomery Co., VA.[14]

                                     She was unmarried in 1862.[15]

            34.         ii.        Margaret (4172); born 1822.[16]

            35.       iii.        Floyd C. (4173); born 1826; married Matilda Mustard (4862) circa 1851.[17]

            36.         iv.       Joseph (4174); born 1831 in Montgomery Co., VA;[18] died of typhoid fever on October 4, 1862 in Montgomery Co., VA.[19]

     He began military service on April 12, 1862 at Camp Success.  In the Civil War, he enlisted in the 36th VA INF, Co. C.[20] He was unmarried on October 4, 1862.[21]

            37.          v.      Mary (4175); born 1835.[22]

            38.         vi.       Catherine (4176); born 1837.[23]

+          39.       vii.       Levinia Ellen (343), born 1840 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Harman S. Keister (329).

 

20.  Catherine SHELL (325); born July 27, 1809 in Montgomery Co., VA;[24] married Peter Keister Jr. (324), son of Peter Keister Sr. (352) and Elizabeth Schreyer (353), March 9, 1826 in Montgomery Co., VA.[25]

     She was christened on November 5, 1809 in St. Michaels Evangelical Lutheran Church, Montgomery Co., VA.[26]

 

     Peter KEISTER Jr. (324) was born in 1802 in Montgomery County, VA.[27] He was a farmer with real estate valued at $3000 and personal property valued at $1000 in 1860 in Montgomery Co., VA.[28] He died after 1870 in Montgomery County, VA.  For more on this family see the Keister chapter.
