Generation Five

 

 

23.  Fleming M. DUNCAN (1036); born December 3, 1826 in Floyd Co., VA;[1],[2] married Evaline Cox (5487) November 6, 1852;[3],[4] died November 20, 1885, at age 58, and buried in the Malachie Duncan Cemetery in Willis (Duncan), VA.[5]

     He was a lawyer with $250 in real estate and $100 in personal property in 1860 in Floyd Co., VA.[6]

 

     Evaline COX (5487) was born on October 7, 1829 in VA.[7] She died on June 11, 1878, at age 48, and was buried in the Malachie Duncan Cemetery in Willis (Duncan), VA.[8]

     Children of Fleming M. Duncan (1036) and Evaline Cox (5487) all born in Floyd Co., VA, were as follows:

+       79.        i.    Malachi (5488), born March 1, 1855; married Amelia Agnes ? (5544).

         80.        ii.    William Callaway (5489); born June 4, 1857;[9] married Julia A. Hylton (5548) circa 1886;[10] died July 25, 1923, at age 66, and buried in Duncan Chapel Cemetery in Willis (Duncan), Floyd Co., VA.[11]

         81.      iii.    Sarah Catherine (5521); born 1860.[12]

         82.       iv.    Elizabeth (5522); born September, 1863;[13] died circa 1865.[14]

         83.       v.    Ann Eliza (5524); born May 4, 1866;[15] died 1949.[16]

+       84.       vi.    John W. (5523), born June 14, 1869; married T. D. ? (5550).

 

 

25.  Lucinda DUNCAN (116);[17],[18] born April 7, 1829 in Floyd County, VA;[19] married William A. Howell (115), son of David A. Howell (119) and Charlotte Pratt (2284), January 9, 1850 in Floyd County, VA;[20] died April 25, 1884 in Floyd County, VA, at age 55, and buried in Duncan Cemetery in Willis, VA (Floyd Co.).[21]

     William A. HOWELL (115) was born on October 14, 1827 in Floyd County, VA.[22],[23] He was a farmer in 1870 in Floyd Co., VA.[24] He married Elizabeth S. (-?-) (117) circa 1887.[25] He died on October 16, 1905 in Floyd County, VA, at age 78 and was buried in a Duncan Cemetery in Willis, VA (Floyd Co.).[26]  For more on this family see the Howell chapter.
