Butler, April 22, 1867 in Carroll Co., VA; died 1925 in Carroll Co., VA; buried in Vaughan Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA. [1].[2]

 

     Ally Maria VAUGHAN was born on November 10, 1848 in Carroll Co., VA.[3] She died in 1918 in Carroll Co., VA; buried in Vaughan Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA.[4],[5]

     Children of Rufus M.5 Vaughan and Ally Maria Vaughan all born in Carroll Co., VA, were as follows:

+          13.          i.     Elisha Monroe6 Vaughan, born September 23, 1868; married America Ann Matherly.

            14.          ii.     Margaret Ann Vaughan "Annie;" born August 6, 1870; married Isaac Winton Coulson February 20, 1889 in Carroll Co., VA;[6] died November 24, 1941 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 71. [7]

            15.        iii.     Charles W. Vaughan; born September 16, 1879.[8]

            16.         iv.     Josie M. Vaughan; born June 20, 1887; died June 20, 1887 in Carroll Co., VA.[9]

            17.         v.     Minnie F. Vaughan; born March 4, 1889; died June 4, 1890 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 1.[10]

            18.         vi.     Rosa G. Vaughan; born May 13, 1892; died August 23, 1971 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 79.[11]

            19.       vii.     Corra Nell Vaughan; born April 25, 1895; married Hobart P. Edwards May 16, 1917 in Carroll Co., VA;[12] died 1963 in Carroll Co., VA.[13]

 

11.  Rachel A.5 VAUGHAN (John4, John3, Jesse2, William1); born December 8, 1850 in Carroll County, VA; married William King Vaughan October 28, 1867 in Carroll Co., VA;[14] died December 18, 1922 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 72; Buried in Vaughan Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA.[15]

 

     William King VAUGHAN was born on June 20, 1840 in VA.  He died on January 21, 1892 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 51; buried in Vaughan Family Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA.[16]

     Children of Rachel A.5 Vaughan and William King Vaughan were as follows:

            27.          i.     Evan Ellis6 Vaughan; born January 10, 1868 in Wythe Co., VA; married Fannie C. Patton circa 1893. [17]

            28.          ii.     Margaret M. Vaughan "Maggie;" born circa 1870 in Carroll Co., VA; married Richard H. Robinson December 22, 1888 in Alleghany Co., NC.[18]

            29.        iii.     Nancy Catherine Vaughan "Kate;" born March 1, 1874 in Carroll Co., VA; married Norman Guynn December 29, 1892 in Carroll Co., VA; died April 25, 1964 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 90. [19]

            30.         iv.     Daniel Glenn Vaughan; born March 7, 1876 in Carroll Co., VA; died May 10, 1900 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 24; buried in Vaughan Family Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA.[20]

            31.         v.     William M. Vaughan; born September 22, 1878 in Carroll Co., VA; married Grace T. Lyon August 21, 1911 in Carroll Co., VA. [21]

            32.         vi.     Ida M. Vaughan; born March 14, 1881 in Carroll Co., VA.[22]

            33.       vii.     Bertha L. Vaughan; born August 1, 1886 in Carroll Co., VA.[23]

            34.       viii.     Frederick Elbert Vaughan; born February 10, 1889 in Carroll Co., VA;[24] died February 15, 1889 in Carroll Co., VA; buried in Vaughan Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA.  Cause "inflammation bowels."[25]

            35.         ix.     Lula G. Vaughan; born September 27, 1890 in Carroll Co., VA; married Elmer R. Landis November 18, 1922 in Pulaski Co., VA; ceremony-C. W. Dean;[26] died November, 1978 in Pulaski Co., VA, at age 88.[27]

 

12.  Nancy E.5 VAUGHAN (John4, John3, Jesse2, William1) "Nannie;" born November 14, 1853 in Carroll County, VA;[28],[29] married Richard Thompson Burnop, son of Richard Burnop and Margaret ?, June 8, 1874 in Carroll Co., VA;[30] died June 18, 1889 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 35; cause of death unknown.  Buried in Thompson Cemetery in Smyth Co., VA.[31]

    

     Richard Thompson BURNOP was born on September 7, 1856 in Westmoreland County, England.[32],[33] He was a Methodist; converted at an early age by the Rev. Bob Sheffey.[34] He was a miner in 1870 in Carroll Co., VA.[35] He was a farmer on June 8, 1874 in Carroll Co., VA.[36] He lived between 1880 and 1900 in Rich Valley District, Smyth Co., VA.[37],[38] He married Susan S. Crabtree circa 1891.[39] He died on April 12, 1937 in Smyth Co., VA, at age 80; Buried in Old Bethel Cemetery in Smyth Co., VA.[40]  For more on this family, see the Burnop section.

     America Ann MATHERLY was born on July 16, 1868 in Carroll Co., VA.  She died on May 28, 1922 in Pulaski Co., VA, at age 53; buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Pulaski Co., VA.[43],[44]

     Children of Elisha Monroe6 Vaughan and America Ann Matherly were:

            42.          i.     Elbert R.7 Vaughan; born August 9, 1886 in Carroll Co., VA; died September 12, 1887 in Carroll Co., VA, at age 1; cause of death "scrofula." [45]
