13.  John WHITT (4521); born 1710 in Manakin, Albermarle Co., VA;[1] married Elizabeth Littleberry (4540) circa 1735;[2] married Lucy Littleberry (4541) after 1735;[3] died March 4, 1782 in Amherst Co., VA.[4]

 

     Elizabeth LITTLEBERRY (4540) was born circa 1710.[5]

     There were no children of John Whitt (4521) and Elizabeth Littleberry (4540).

 

     Lucy LITTLEBERRY (4541) was born circa 1710.[6]

     Children of John Whitt (4521) and Lucy Littleberry (4541) all born in Albermarle Co., VA, were as follows:

         25.        i.    Charles (4545); born circa 1742.[7]

         26.        ii.    George (4544); born circa 1742.[8]

         27.      iii.    David (4546); born circa 1752;[9] married Ann Luttrell (4548) circa 1780;[10] died 1832.[11]

         28.       iv.    John Jr. (4542); born circa 1753;[12] married Elizabeth Luttrell (4549) circa 1780;[13] died May 2, 1826.[14]

         29.       v.    Littlebury (4550); born circa 1755;[15] married Jenny Burnett (4551) September 30, 1777 in Amherst Co., VA;[16] died 1796 in VA.[17]

         30.       vi.    Abner (4543); born circa 1756.[18]

         31.     vii.    Lucy (4547); born circa 1757;[19] married Benjamin Carpenter (4552) circa 1780.[20]

+       32.     viii.    Elisha (4553), born September 18, 1759; married Phoebee Dodd (4556).

         33.       ix.    William (4554); born December 29, 1762;[21] married Mildred Baker (4555) circa 1788;[22] died December 26, 1827 in Fayette, Howard Co., MO, at age 64.[23]

 

24.  Richard WHITT (972);[24] born circa 1730 in Montgomery Co., VA;[25] married Susannah Skaggs (973), daughter of James Skaggs (4313) and Rachel Moredock (4314), 1755 in Montgomery Co., VA;[26] died January, 1813 in Montgomery Co., VA.[27]

       Richard Whitt is found many times in the land records.

      "1774, RICHARD WHIT, 205 acres Meadow Creek; 385 acres Meadow Creek joining land he lives on, on lower side and adjoining land of Lorton, 1785 (Montgomery County Survey)”     Fincastle Co., VA.[28]

      "1779, RICHARD WHITT from James Skaggs, 68 acres Meadow Creek."     Montgomery Co., VA.[29]

      "1786, RICHARD WHITT(E) from James Skaggs, 100 acres part of the old ferry place on the west side of the New River where Skaggs now lives."     Montgomery Co., VA.[30]

     He was listed as selling 68 acres on Meadow Creek to John Lawrence in 1787 in Montgomery Co., VA.[31]

      "1797, JOHN INGLES from Richard Whitt, two tracts 50 acres below mouth of Little River and 100 acres west side New River."      Montgomery Co., VA.[32]

     As minister of the Baptist Church, Richard produced ordination to court in July, 1785 at Montgomery Co., VA.[33] On June 15, 1801, he was listed as a witness to the William Grayson will though this could possibly refer to Richard's son, Richard Whitt in Montgomery Co., VA.[34] He lived in 1810 in Montgomery Co., VA.[35]

 

     Susannah SKAGGS (973)[36],[37] was also known as Elizabeth "Betsy." She was born in 1730.[38] She died on October 4, 1797 in Montgomery Co., VA.[39]

     Children of Richard Whitt (972) and Susannah Skaggs (973) were as follows:

         34.        i.    Abijah (4479); born 1757 in SC;[40] married Elizabeth Ellswick (4480) October 22, 1792 in Montgomery Co., VA.[41]

         35.        ii.    Rachel (4475); born 1759 in SC;[42] married Abraham Henderson (4476) circa 1780.[43]

+       36.      iii.    Archibald (936), born circa 1761 in Montgomery Co., VA; married Hannah Low (937).

         37.       iv.    Hezekiah (4477); born 1761 in SC;[44] married Rachel Skaggs (4478) 1782;[45] died March 4, 1846 in Tazewell Co., VA.[46]

      "1787, HEZEKIAH WHITT, from James Skaggs and Susanna, 50 acres on a branch of New River, grant to Skaggs in 1785."     Montgomery Co., VA land records.[47]

         38.       v.    Elizabeth (974); born 1763 in Montgomery Co., VA;[48] married William Cassiday (981) circa 1785.

         39.       vi.    Susanna (975);[49] married Jessee Cresswell (980); born 1765 in Montgomery Co., VA.[50]

         40.     vii.    Ruth (976);[51] born 1767 in Montgomery Co., VA;[52] married Jesse Whitt (979) August 10, 1789 in Montgomery Co., VA;[53] died October 18, 1839.[54]

         41.     viii.    Robert (4483); born 1767;[55] married Peggy White (4484) October 22, 1792 in Montgomery Co., VA.[56]

         42.       ix.    Richard (977);[57] born 1772 in Montgomery Co., VA;[58] married Betsy Smallwood Baxter (978) October 4, 1797 in Montgomery Co., VA.[59]

         43.      x.    Edmund (4481); born circa 1774 in Montgomery Co., VA;[60] married Hannah Lester (4482) 1801 in Russell Co., VA;[61] died circa 1840 in Carter Co., KY.[62]
