16.  Andrew J.3 HOWELL (David2, Joshua1); born 1816 in Floyd Co., VA;[1] married Frances Carter October 9, 1838 in Floyd Co., VA.[2]

 

     Frances CARTER was born in 1816 in Floyd Co., VA.[3]

     Children of Andrew J.3 Howell and Frances Carter were as follows:

            41.          i.     Martha E.4; born 1841 in Floyd Co., VA;[4], died December 22, 1854 in Floyd Co., VA. [5]

            42.          ii.     Anderson T.; born 1843 in Floyd Co., VA;[6] died April 2, 1862 in Floyd Co., VA.[7]

     A Civil War veteran, Anderson T. began military service when he enlisted in Co. B of the 54th VA INF on September 16, 1861 in Floyd Court-House, Floyd Co., VA. 

He was left sick at Temple Hill according to the Feb. 28, 1862 muster and he died on April 2, 1862 at home in Floyd County.[8]

            43.        iii.     Nancy; born 1844 in Floyd Co., VA. [9]

            44.         iv.     Larkin T.; born 1846 in Floyd Co., VA. [10]

     A Civil War veteran, Larkin began military service when he enlisted in Co. E of the 25th VA CAV on March 1, 1863 in Floyd Co., VA.

     He obtained a mount on May 1, 1863.  He was in Russell Co. with a  disabled horse on June 18, 1863 but was back by the Apr. 1864 roll.  Larkin was wounded in action on July 3, 1864.  He was listed as a deserter on Dec. 2, 1864 according to the Department of WV and East TN records, but he was present again by Dec. 1864.  His Post War Record states wounded in action at Shepperdstown.  Resident of Floyd Co., VA.[11]

            47.       vii.     Lucinda; born 1852 in VA.[14]
