Richard T. Burnop’s Children

 

28.  William “Bill” H.4 BURNOP (Richard3, Richard2, Jacob1) was born June 7, 1876 in Rich Valley, Smyth Co., VA[1],[2] and married Virginia T. Olinger September 8, 1893 in Smyth Co., VA.[3]

     He was a farmer on September 8, 1893 in Smyth Co., VA[4] but was listed as a blacksmith on June 8, 1896 in Rich Valley, Smyth Co., VA.[5]

     Virginia “Jennie” T. OLINGER, the daughter of J. C. and Mary E. Olinger, was born in 1875 in Smyth Co., VA.[6]

     Children of William H.4 Burnop and Virginia T. Olinger were:

        46.        i.    Ray5 Burnop; born June 8, 1896 in Rich Valley, Smyth Co., VA.[7]

 

 

 

31.  Bertha Allie4 BURNOP (Richard3, Richard2, Jacob1) was born September 7, 1883 in Rich Valley, Smyth Co., VA[8] and married Elbert Eden Howell, son of George Washington Howell and Rosabell Pratt, October 1, 1900 in Radford, VA.[9] Bertha died December 9, 1956 in Radford, VA, at age 73 and is buried in West View Cemetery in Radford, VA.[10]

     Elbert Eden HOWELL was born on December 25, 1878 in Floyd County, VA.[11] He died on March 24, 1964 in Radford, VA, at age 85 and is buried in the West View Cemetery in Radford, VA.[12]  Elbert lived between 1942 and 1959 in 1817 4th Street and Ingles in  Radford, VA.  He owned Howell's Shoe Shop, 230 1st Street W, in Radford, VA.[13],[14],[15],[16]

33.  George W.4 BURNOP (Richard3, Richard2, Jacob1) was born November 3, 1887 in Smyth County, VA[17],[18],[19] and married May Campbell circa 1915.[20]  George died March 1, 1920 in Smyth Co., VA, at age 32, and is buried in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Smyth County, VA.[21]

     George lived in 1910 in Smyth Co., VA  when he was enumerated with Richard M. Gaddy.[22] He was a farmer on January 22, 1916 in Rich Valley, Chatham Hill in Smyth Co., VA.[23]  In 1920 he lived in Smyth Co., VA.[24]

     May CAMPBELL was born in 1884 in VA.[25]

     Children of George W.4 Burnop and May Campbell were as follows:

        55.        i.    Florence Elizabeth5 Burnop; born January 22, 1916 in Rich Valley, Chatham Hill, Smyth Co., VA;[26],[27] married Vernon Harwood Neal March 26, 1937 in Marion, Smyth Co., VA; ceremony by W. H. Carter.[28]

        56.       ii.    George Campbell Burnop; born October 25, 1918 in VA;[29],[30] died February 14, 1986 at age 67; buried in Round Hill Cemetery, Smyth Co., VA.[31]

     He began military service circa 1943 Sgt. U. S. Army Air Corps  WWII.[32] His Social Security Number information was Residence: Saltville, Smyth Co., VA   34370 issued in WV before 1951.  Born 25 Oct. 1918 and died Feb 1986 in February, 1986.[33]

 

 

 

36.  Claude E.4 BURNOP (Richard3, Richard2, Jacob1) was born September 2, 1894 in Rich Valley in Smyth County, VA[34] and married Ethel M. Oakes April 18, 1933 in Marion in  Smyth Co., VA (ceremony by W. H. Carter).[35]  He died February 6, 1956 at age 61 and is buried in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Smyth Co., VA.[36]

     Claude was a laborer on April 18, 1933 in Chatham Hill in Smyth Co., VA.[37]

     Ethel M. OAKES, daughter of George and Lydia Carter Oakes, was born on July 17, 1894 in Smyth Co., VA.[38],[39] She died on August 5, 1977 at age 83 and is buried in the Old Bethel Cemetery in Smyth Co., VA.[40] Her Social Security Number was issued in VA.  Residence: 32503 Pensacola, Escambia, FL.  Last benefit sent to 24354 Marion, Smyth, VA after 1978.[41]

     Children of Claude E.4 Burnop and Ethel M. Oakes were:

        57.        i.    Ferne Claudine5 Burnop; born 1934 in Smyth Co., VA;[42] married Franklin Ford August 4, 1954 in Chatham Hill, Smyth Co., VA; ceremony by D. McD. Monroe.[43]
