85.  Andrew Jackson6 WEDDLE (John5, David4, Benjamin3, Martin2, Michael1); born May 16, 1834 in Floyd Co., VA;[1],[2] married Barbara Weddle 1855;[3] married Eliza Lemon 1886;[4] married Sarah Davis Havens circa 1890;[5] died March 9, 1911 at age 76; buried in the Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Court House in Floyd Co., VA.[6]

     He was a farmer between 1858 and 1868 in Floyd Co., VA.[7] He began military service on March 24, 1862 in Abingdon, VA, when he enlisted in Co. D of the 54th VA INF.  Andrew was present on the Dec 31, 1863 muster roll.  His postwar record indicates that he was disloyal.[8]

 

     Barbara WEDDLE was born in 1829.[9]

     Children of Andrew Jackson6 Weddle and Barbara Weddle were as follows:

      203.        i.    Arista Rist7 Weddle; born 1856 in Floyd Co., VA;[10] married Delia Bryant 1884.[11]

      204.       ii.    Armilda Weddle; born 1857 in Floyd Co., VA.[12]

      205.     iii.    Brady Weddle; born January 6, 1858 in Floyd Co., VA;[13] married Lucinda Hancock circa 1883;[14] died 1887.[15]

      206.      iv.    John Douglas Weddle; born January 14, 1859 in Floyd Co., VA;[16] married Alice O'Mier circa 1884.[17]

      207.       v.    George Milton Weddle; born 1861 in Floyd Co., VA;[18] married Margaret O'Mier circa 1886.[19]

      208.      vi.    Andrew D. Weddle; born 1862 in Floyd Co., VA.[20]

      209.    vii.    Joseph Allen Weddle; born February 4, 1866 in Floyd Co., VA;[21] married Sallie O'Mier circa 1891.[22]

      210.    viii.    Chapman Weddle; born 1867 in Floyd Co., VA.[23]

      211.      ix.    Walker Weddle; born circa 1868 in Floyd Co., VA.[24]

      212.       x.    Archelaus Weddle; born circa 1868 in Floyd Co., VA.[25]

      213.      xi.    Calvin Weddle; born June 15, 1869 in Floyd Co., VA.[26]

 

     Eliza LEMON; daughter of Isaac Lemon, Jr. & Sally Young was born in 1845.[27] She died in 1886.[28]

     There were no children of Andrew Jackson6 Weddle and Eliza Lemon.

 

     Sarah Davis HAVENS was born circa 1850.[29]

     There were no children of Andrew Jackson6 Weddle and Sarah Davis Havens.

 

 

 

86.  Elijah6 WEDDLE (John5, David4, Benjamin3, Martin2, Michael1); born June 26, 1836 in Floyd Co., VA;[30],[31] married Mary Jane Stigleman 1859.[32]

     He was a farmer in 1860 in Floyd Co., VA.[33] He began military service on October 1, 1861 in Jacksonville, Floyd Co., VA, when he enlisted in Co. D of the 54th VA INF.  He was present on Jan. 1, 1862 but deserted on Jul 21, 1863 at Zollicoffer, TN.  Elijah took the oath of allegiance at Knoxville, TN on April 17, 1865.  He was described as 5'10" with a dark complexion, hair and eyes.[34]

 

     Mary Jane STIGLEMAN; daughter of A. F. Stigleman was born in 1842 in VA.[35]

     Children of Elijah6 Weddle and Mary Jane Stigleman were as follows:

      214.        i.    Julina7 Weddle; born 1860 in Floyd Co., VA.[36]

      215.       ii.    George M. Weddle; born August 10, 1860 in Floyd Co., VA.[37]

      216.     iii.    Alinadoris Weddle; born 1865 in Floyd Co., VA.[38]

      217.      iv.    Leveretta M. Weddle; born May 22, 1867 in Floyd Co., VA.[39]

      218.       v.    Fritz Weddle; born June 5, 1869 in Floyd Co., VA.[40]

 

 

 

127.  Robert H.6 WEDDLE (Andrew5, John4, Benjamin3, Martin2, Michael1); born 1841 in Wythe Co., VA;[41] married Nancy Utt 1860;[42] married Margaret Weddle, daughter of John Weddle and Jane Weeks, circa 1865;[43] died 1908 in VA.[44]

     He was a farmer in 1867 in Floyd Co., VA.[45]

 

     Nancy UTT was born circa 1840.[46]

     There were no children of Robert H.6 Weddle and Nancy Utt.

 

     Margaret WEDDLE was born on July 31, 1838 in Floyd Co., VA.[47],[48] She died on April 1, 1922 at age 83; buried in the Gladesboro Cemetery in Carroll Co., VA.[49]

     Children of Robert H.6 Weddle and Margaret Weddle were:

      220.        i.    Laura W.7 Weddle, born July 11, 1867 in Floyd Co., VA.

 

 

 

138.  Caleb6 WEDDLE (Samuel5, Andrew4, Benjamin3, Martin2, Michael1); born July 27, 1840 in Floyd Co., VA;[50] married Serena Hylton circa 1865;[51] died January 17, 1892 at age 51; buried in the Claude Harter Farm Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[52]

     He began military service on October 1, 1861 in Jacksonville, Floyd Co., VA, when he enlisted in Co. D of the 54th VA INF.  He was present on Jan 1, 1862 and discharged in March 1862 at age 21.  He was described as 5'4" with a light complexion, blue eyes and light hair.[53] He was a farmer between 1866 and 1872 in Floyd Co., VA.[54]

 

     Serena HYLTON; daughter of Jacob Harman, Jr. and Anna Hylton was born on May 3, 1839 in Floyd Co., VA.[55] She died on November 24, 1912 in Floyd Co., VA, at age 73.[56]

     Children of Caleb6 Weddle and Serena Hylton were as follows:

      221.        i.    Joshua7 Weddle; born January, 1866 in Floyd Co., VA.[57]

      222.       ii.    Samuel J. Weddle; born March 1, 1867 in Floyd Co., VA.[58]

      223.     iii.    Martin Weddle; born April 20, 1872 in Floyd Co., VA.[59]

 

 

 

161.  Harvey D.6 WEDDLE (Levi5, Andrew4, Benjamin3, Martin2, Michael1); born November 30, 1841 in Floyd Co., VA;[60],[61] married Margaret (--?--) circa 1865;[62] died February 15, 1909 at age 67; buried in the Topeco Church Cemetery in Willis in Floyd Co., VA.[63]

     He began military service on May 16, 1861 in Floyd Court House, Floyd Co., VA, when he enlisted in the 24th VA INF, Co. A.  Harvey was absent sick in the fall of 1861 and captured at Williamsburg in May of 1862.  He was paroled and exchanged.  Harvey was admitted to the Farmville Hospital on May 23, 1862 and then deserted on May 24, 1862.

     A Harvey Weddle then enlisted on Nov 6, 1862 at Liberty Hill, VA and deserted at Knoxville, TN on Jul 12, 1863.  His postwar record indicates that he was disloyal.  A resident of Floyd Co., VA, born Nov 30, 1841, died Feb. 15, 1909, Harvey was buried in the Topeco Church Cemetery in Willis in Floyd Co., VA.

     The birth and death dates indicate that this second Harvey is Harvey the son of Levi and Catherine Weddle.  I believe both the 24th VA INF Harvey and the 54th VA INF are the same.  Their records mesh and only one Harvey is in Floyd Co. on the 1860 census records.[64],[65]

     He was a farmer between 1866 and 1871 in Floyd Co., VA.[66]

 

     Margaret (--?--) was born circa 1845.[67]

     Children of Harvey D.6 Weddle and Margaret (--?--) were as follows:

      224.        i.    Noah E.7 Weddle; born February 21, 1866 in Floyd Co., VA.[68]

      225.       ii.    Emazetta E. Weddle; born April 28, 1871 in Floyd Co., VA;[69] died March 26, 1872 in Floyd Co., VA; cause of death was "Santanis Dance."[70]

 

 

 

162.  Joel6 WEDDLE (Levi5, Andrew4, Benjamin3, Martin2, Michael1); born November 25, 1843 in Floyd Co., VA;[71],[72] married Martha E. Hylton, daughter of George Hylton and Mary Marie Harman, March 8, 1867;[73] died April 12, 1936 at age 92; buried in the Joel Weddle Cemetery in Willis in Floyd Co., VA.[74],[75]

     He began military service on March 12, 1862 in Abingdon, VA, when he enlisted in Co. D of the 54th VA INF.  Joel was present on the Dec 31, 1863 muster roll which also noted that he had been AWOL from Sep. 25 to Nov 4, 1863.  He is found on the 1920 Floyd Co., VA Pension list.[76] He was a farmer between 1869 and 1871 in Floyd Co., VA.[77]

 

     Martha E. HYLTON was born on July 15, 1844 in Floyd Co., VA.[78],[79] She died on August 30, 1915 at age 71; buried in the Joel Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[80]

     Children of Joel6 Weddle and Martha E. Hylton were as follows:

      226.        i.    Amanda Jane7 Weddle; born December 5, 1869 in Floyd Co., VA;[81],[82] died May 29, 1950 at age 80; buried in the Joel Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[83]
