Generation Three

 

 

5.  Henry3 PATTON (Henry2, William1); born 1660 in Caiggo, Dundee, Scotland; married Sarah Lynn, daughter of David Lynn, circa 1685; died 1743 in Clondevaddock Parrish, Barony of Kilmacremon Co., of Dublin (Ulster) Ireland. [1], [2]

     He was ship builder, operating merchant ships.[3] He began military service between April, 1689 and August, 1689 Henry Patton and three brothers were in the army of William of Orange during the defense of Londonderry and later was present at the Battle of Boyne, July 1st, 1690.[4] He immigrated after 1690.[5],[6] He lived after 1690 in Manor of Springfield, Parish of Clondevaddock, Barony of Kilmacrenan, County Donegal, Ireland.[7]

 

     Sarah LYNN[8],[9] was born in 1664 in Kilmacrenan, Scotland.[10]

     Children of Henry3 Patton and Sarah Lynn were as follows:

              7.          i.     Richard4;[11] born circa 1685; died 1751 in Raphoe County of Donegal, Ireland.[12]

+            8.          ii.     Thomas, born 1686.

+            9.        iii.     Capt. John, born circa 1689 in Newton-Limavady, Derry (now Londonderry), Ireland; married Sarah Rogers.

            10.         iv.     Andrew; born before 1690; died circa 1747. [13]

+          11.         v.     Col. James, born July 8, 1692 in Newton-Limavady, Derry (now Londonderry), North Ireland; married Mary Borden.

            12.         vi.     Robert;[14] born circa 1695.

     He owned land on June 3, 1741 in Lancaster Co., PA.[15]

            13.       vii.     (--?--);born circa 1695.[16]

            14.       viii.     (--?--);born circa 1695. [17]

            15.         ix.     Charles;[18] born circa 1695 in Ireland.

     Charles stayed in Ireland and inherited the Crogan Estate.[19]

            16.         x.     (--?--);[20] born circa 1695.

            17.         xi.     Matthew;[21] born circa 1695.

     He purchased 200 acres on October 29, 1735 in Lancaster Co., PA.[22]

            18.       xii.     Benjamin;[23] born circa 1695.

            19.       xiii.     David;[24] born circa 1695.

+          20.      xiv.     Elizabeth, born December 25, 1700 in Newton-Limavady, Derry (now Londonderry), Ireland; married John Preston.

+          21.        xv.     Henry, born circa 1705; married Martha Randolph.

+          22.      xvi.     William, born circa 1706 in Ireland.

            23.      xvii.     Hugh; born circa 1710; married Eliza Hanna circa 1735.[25]

     Hugh Patton came to America from Ireland in the late 1700's.  He and Eliza ended up living in southwest PA, Washington County circa 1775.[26]

 

 

6.  Margaret3 PATTON (John2, William1); born circa 1655; married William Lynn circa 1680; died 1727 in VA. [27]

 

     William LYNN was born circa 1655. He died in 1729.[28]
