8.  Thomas4 PATTON (Henry3, Henry2, William1); born 1686; died after 1774.[1]

     He purchased 100 acres on October 13, 1739 in Lancaster Co., PA.[2]

 

     Children of Thomas4 Patton and an unknown spouse were as follows:

            25.          i.     Polly5; born circa 1715; married George Helms 1797. [3]

            26.          ii.     Sally;[4] born circa 1715.

+          27.        iii.     Henry, born April 13, 1773; married Elizabeth Hickman; married Eleanor Spratt.

 

 

9.  Capt. John4 PATTON (Henry3, Henry2, William1);,[5] born circa 1689 in Newton-Limavady, Derry (now Londonderry), Ireland;[6] married Sarah Rogers 1720 in Ireland; married Agnes Snodgrass March 23, 1754 in Rockbridge Co., VA; died 1757 in Augusta Co., VA.[7]

     "Corners of Ancestry" quoted by W. S. Muir in "The KY Register", Vol. 42, p 233, states that "John Patton, his brother Col. James Patton and his sister Elizabeth (Patton) Preston were all married and came to America from Ireland.  In his will he names wife Agnes, children William, James, Margaret, Isabel and Agnes.  He stated his older children are already portioned off.  Witnesses were William McClung, John Stevenson and Matthew Lyle.  On March 10th 1757 Agnes Patton, Matthew Lyle and Alexander Miller gave bond of three hundred pounds as executrix of John Patton.

 

     Sarah ROGERS[8] was born circa 1695 in Newtown-Donegal, Timivady Co., Near Londonary, Ireland. She died before 1754 in Augusta County, VA.[9]

     Children of Capt. John4 Patton and Sarah Rogers were as follows:

            28.          i.     Robert5; born after 1720.[10]

            29.          ii.     Thomas;[11] born after 1720.

+          30.        iii.     Capt. John, born 1728 in Ireland; married Mary Anderson; married Martha Steel.

+          31.         iv.     Matthew, born 1730 in Ireland; married Hester Dyer.

+          32.         v.     Samuel, born 1732 in Ireland.

            33.         vi.     Benjamin; born circa 1734; died circa 1802 in Concord, NC.[12]

     He lived in 1763 in Mecklenberg Co., NC. He Signed the Mecklenberg Co. N.C. Declaration and was elected to the Provincial Congress in 1774. [13]

            34.       vii.     Alexander; born circa 1734.[14]

+          35.       viii.     Capt. James, born October 12, 1735 in Ireland; married ? McCausland; married Mary Dougherty; married ? Reager.

+          36.         ix.     Lydia, born 1739 in Jefferson, KY; married Harmonas Alkire.

+          37.         x.     Andrew, born circa 1740 in Lancaster, Penn; married Agnes Snodgrass.

+          38.         xi.     William, born September, 1742 in Ireland; married Mary Evans.

+          39.       xii.     Margaret, born 1745 in Augusta  County, VA; married William Lynn.

 

     Agnes SNODGRASS[15] was born in 1715.

     Children of Capt. John4 Patton and Agnes Snodgrass both born in Augusta Co., VA, were as follows:

            40.          i.     Isabelle5; born 1755. [16]

+          41.          ii.     Agnes, born 1756; married William Patterson.
