Son of Frederick I Brother
of Frederick II and Peter
What we see here is the first two of
three main groupings of the Keister family. Frederick Keister II and three of
his sons are living in Pendleton County, while the other two brothers of
Frederick II, Peter and Philip Keister are living in Montgomery County. Pendleton county will remain the primary
residence of Frederick II and his descendents.
Peter Keister will move from Montgomery but Philip and his descendents
will stay in Montgomery Country. Price
thinks the Strasburg area Keisters when they appear in 1840 are descendents of Peter Keister.
There are, then, three brothers, the
sons of Frederick Keister I, Peter, Philip and Frederick II and each forms a
later cluster of Keisters.
