King, Wythe Co., VA Will of 1853
Wm King Will. In the name of God Amen. I William King Sen. of the county of Wythe
and state of Virginia being of sound mind and considering the uncertainty of this
frail and transitory life do there fore make ordain publish and declare this to
be my last will and testament, that is to say first after all my lawful debts
are paid and discharged the residue of my Estate real and personal I give and
bequeath and dispose of as follows, to wit: to my son William King I will and
bequeath sixty acres of my plantation on which I now live to him and his heirs
forever, the land to be laid off on the north east end of my plantation and it
is my will that my son William King Pay to my sons Joseph King, Valentine King,
and Rheubin King one hundred and sixty two dollars to each and all of them sum
years after my decease. It is my will
that my son Christily King pay my son William King fifty Dollars. I also will and bequeath to my son Christily
all the residue of my plantation on which I now reside by survey one hundred
and twenty nine acres the same being more or less with all my personal property
at my decease to him and his heirs forever.
On condition that the said Christily King will faithfully support me and
my wife Ann King so long as we both shall live. It is my will that Christily King my son pay to David King and
Elizabeth Porter my daughter one hundred and sixty two dollars to each and both
of them seven years ater my descease.
It is my will that my son Christly King pay my son Austin King sixty
dollars seven years after my Death. In
testimoney whereof I have unto subscibed my name and affixed my seal the 31st
day of January in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifty
three.

The above written
Instrument was subscribed by the said William King in our presence and
acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the same time Published and
declared the above Instrument so subscribed to be his last will and testament
and we at the testators request signed our names with our respective place of
residance.

Court held for Wythe County at the Courthouse on Monday the 11th day of May
1853
This the last will
and testament of William King deceased was presented in Court proved by the
oaths of James Corvin and Ephraim Copenhaven subscribing witessess thereto and
ordered to be recorded.
And at a Court held
for said County on Monday the 9th May 1853 Ann King the widow of William King
deceased having by a writing under her hand relinquished her right to
Administer on said decedants estate on motion of Christopher King who took the
oath required by law and together with Samuel Heilton his security entered into
and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of four hundred Dollars conditioned as
the law directs certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of
Administration on the estate of said William King deceased annexed in due form.
