This is the grave of Michael Foster of the 27^th Virginia Infantry.  After fighting with the Stonewall Brigade throughout the war, he was wounded in 1865.  The wound never healed properly and he died from its affects in 1875.  In 1907, this monument was erected and to this day someone still puts fresh flowers on his grave and has wired a flag on the stone.
