Smith County, Texas "currency" of the Civil War period:

1.  Fifty cents: An unauthorized small denomination note issued by Smith County in 1862.  This type of scrip note was necessitated due to the lack of small change or coins.

2. One hundred dollars - 1864: Treasury Warrant, one of the regular Texas Confederate issue treasury warrants.  This one was issued to Smith County for civil service.
