• Military-Korean & Vietnam: He attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force before retiring after 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict.
  During his military career, he served at duty stations in San Antonio, Texas, F.G. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, Carswell Air Force Base, Texas; K-16, Seoul, Korea, Hamilton Air Force Base, Calif., twice at Hickman Air Force Base in Hawaii, McClellan Air Force Base in California, twice at Travis Air Force in California, Sunnyvale AFS in California, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Saigon, Vietnam and Tinker Air Force Base.
  

• Vernon L. Riley, 74, of Garber, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at his home.
  Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Garber Cemetery, Garber. Arrangements are under direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber.

  He was born March 28, 1930, at Enid. His biological parents were Lee and Hailey Mason and his adoptive parents were John Euen and Ruby Francis Riley.
  He was a 1948 graduate of Garber High School. He and Marie Joy Siegle were married Dec. 8, 1949, in Enid.
  He attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force before retiring after 25 years of service. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam Conflict.
  During his military career, he served at duty stations in San Antonio, Texas, F.G.   In addition to his wife of the home, survivors are two sons, James Riley and his wife, Karie, of Spokane, Wash. and Dale Riley; three daughters, Vickie Riley, of Garber, Dena Sonnenburg and her husband, Steve, of Sparks, Nev. and Mary Beth Helt and her husband, Mike, of Greenville, Calif.; two brothers, Eldon Riley, of Enid and Larry Mason of Enid; one sister, Violet Swanson of Beggs; and eight grandchildren.
  Memorials may be made to the Hospice Circle of Love in care of Dugger Funeral Home.
