- Obituary. 11 Lindale: Services for John Freeman Curry, 69 Kilgore, formerly of Lindale, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home chapel in Lindale with the Rev. James Daniel officiating.
Burial was in the Bethesda Cemetery near Lindale. Mr. Curry died Saturday in a Kilgore nursing home after a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan.30, 1914, in Edom, and had lived most of his life in the Lindale area.
A retired master sergeant in the U.S. Army after 20 years service, he served in World War II, was a member of First Baptist Church in Center and was a carpenter.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Ross Curry, Caboll, Ark.; one brother Franklin P. Curry, San Antonio; three sisters, Mrs. Eunice McKay and Mrs. Reba Spivey, both of Tyler, and Mrs. Julia Fleming, Lindale; one granddaughter, Amy Lee Curry, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Dickert, John Dickert Jr., Richard Fleming, Larry Gilligan, Vestal McGahey and Glen Taylor.
