For the Christian Index:
Brother Dagg- I send you the account o f a meeting that commenced
Friday before the Lords day in July. The church seemed to be cold
at the commencement, and for several days there seemed but little
interest more than a full attendance of thr church and
congregation. The meeting continued day and night for eleven
days, in which time the good Lord was blessed to pour out his
spirit in rich profusion upon his children, and sinners was made
to tremble and seek salvation in the merits of Christ. Many found
peace in beliving. The result was twenty-eight baptised,
four recieved by letter, one restored. We had the aid of Brother Tate and
Brother Steely, and in the latter part of the meeting Brother J.
H. Campbell. The church met again on the next Saturday and Sunday
and received two more by experience, making ---- by experience.

Brother D. G. Da?iell, of Thomasville, communaicates, interesting intelligence to his son, in a letter from which we are permitted to make the following claims:
In most if not all of these mettings, backsliders were
reclaimed and some who had always been regarded as {?} members
were made seriously to enquire into the reason of the hope that
swelt within them. I have learned also that Brother
Tate of this county {Thomas} had a very
interesting sermon at Summerhill Church, some eight or ten miles
off, during which he baptized between fifteen and twenty.
Besides all this there are to mind, unmistakable evidences that
Baptist interest are strengthening in this region.

Report of Committee on Deceased and Indigent Ministers
Your committee beg leave to report that this body is called on to
mourn the loss of two of the most devoted and efficient ministers
within its membership. Brother
William A. Tate has died and it is belived, has
entered the rest that remains for the people of God. He was on
the olded of the Fathers of Isreal in our Associations. But while
the brethren are left to mourn in sadness his departure from our
brothergood, and will miss his widsom and experience in council,
they may safely rejoice in the assurance that their loss is his
eternal gain.
