    Rev. William Tate: Born in SC, in the year 1811. Died in Porter Springs, Lumpkin Co, 1890.

   The Rev. Tate lived for fifty years in Lumpkin Co, where he preached, and raised his children. He was a good citizen of this County and was missed at his passing.
   He married Sarah Brown, from White Co, Ga born in the year 1815. Together they had the following  children and all were born and raised in Lumpkin Co.
