Searching for information about my maternal grandmother, Martha Cecil MYERS, daughter of John and Delia MYERS.
Supposedly grandma was born in Iowa, Wisconsin or aboard ship on the Atlantic on 22 March 1872.  The earliest record I have been able to find is for her marriage application with my grandfather, Daniel Archibald McNAB, on 31 March 1886 at Irving, Jackson County, Wisconsin.  They were married at Black River Falls, Jackson County, Wisconsin by Myron Button,
a local farmer who may have been a Methodist minister.  I have searched census records (including the new 1880 CD-ROM census), vital statistics, newspapers, court, orphanage and school records in the Irving, Black River Falls and Sparta area without success.  The family does not appear in Filby's Germans to America either.  Grandmother's obituary states she lived on an Iowa farm until the age of seven when some tragedy apparently occurred which may have orphaned her.  She died at Custer, South Dakota on 15 September 1920, aged 48, survived by six of her twelve children.  Supposedly she had an older
brother, name unknown.

ELLIS and HARMON.
Charles G. ELLIS, the youngest of nine children, was born in late 1820s in Milford, Otsego Co., NY, to Christopher ELLIS and Wealthy (PERRY) ELLIS. I do not know when Charles moved to Iowa, but probably in late 1840s. I have found a marriage record for a Charles G. ELLIS and a Catherine HARMON dated 18 March 1849 in Jefferson, Greene County, Iowa; I do not know whether this is my Charles G. ELLIS.
