Charles Amasa Amidon.  He was born June 26, 1855 in Onondaga County, New York and later moved to the Tama/Toledo area.  He married Mattie E. Mettlen on August 21, 1881.  They had 4 children: Grace, Russell, Walter and Gladys.  Charles died sometime in 1940 and Mattie about 1926.  They are buried at Rose Hill Cemetery near Toledo.

City.  she was born 1863 in PA. The family moved to Union County, South Dakota before 1870 and She married Harry Hutton and lived in Sioux City all their lives. Her name is Elsie Smith Hutton,  her husband was a banker in Sioux City, I think the Banks name in the early 1900 was Toy National Bank. Harry done very well in the banking business and Elsie, it is said, contributed alot of money to the YWCA.

 my parents house, I just found an old New Testament that has handwritten in the inside back cover and fly leaf "Lydia Ann Reed born June 16, 1847 near Zanesville Ohio came to Iowa in a covered wagon, when a little girl not quite 6 yrs of age, with her parents, John and Eliza Reed who settled on a farm about 9 miles south of Mt. Pleasant IA."  That is all it says about Lydia Ann Reed or her family prior to her marriage in 1866 to James Alvin Shepherd in New London, IA.  I doubt if Lydia Ann Reed was an only child but I have no further information about any siblings.  Lydia Ann Reed was my

great grandmother.

My father was born in 1885 in Monona County, Maple Township. He is in the 1885 census with his parents and half brother, William and Anna(Hicks) Cook and john Huffman. He is also found in the 1895 Iowa Census, Monona County and 1900 Iowa Census Woodbury County. Here is the problem. In the 1895 census  there are two brothers listed and 1900, there are three brothers listed, which I knew nothing about all the while my father was alive. I can't find the brothers after the 1900 census. Their names

were Richard Cook, born in Iowa August 1891, Charles Cook, born in Iowa March 1894, and Fred Cook, born in Iowa February 1895.

Elizabeth was born November 15, 1867 in Iowa and passed on April 19, 1902 and is also buried in German Luthern Cemetery in Madison Co.,IA   Ferdinand and Elizabeth's children:

Looking for David F. Griffith b. 1828 Perry Co., PA; d. 1905, CA.  He moved to the Birmingham area of Van Buren Co., IA, c1838, with his mother and siblings Catherine (marr. Jacob Lawton c1845) and Jacob Griffith (marr. to Rebecca Adams c1850).  David marr. in Van Buren Co. to 1st Nancy Wilfong in June 1850.  She was b. 1827; d. Feb. 1852.  David marr. there to 2nd  Delilah Bivins on 4 Oct. 1856.   Delilah b. 1831 (family from MD and poss. Sangamon Co., IL) ; d. 1905 in Fresno Co., CA.  They moved to Davis Co., near Milton/Bloomfield c1866.  With 2nd marr. he changed the spelling of his last name to GRIFFEATH.  

       I need  a first name for David's father.  His mother was Elizabeth Kumler who marr. 2nd to Joseph Foster in PA before moving to Van Buren Co. I need info on 1st born son William Walker Griffith (only child by Nancy) b. Feb. 1851.  I'd like to fill in sibling Catherine and Jacob's lines.

       I'm hoping to find some Griffith / Griffeath kinfolk for sharing and exchange.   I am from the 2nd family of 'eath.'   Related lines include Clark and Bollman in Davis Co. since c1840.

My grandfather Arthur John Owenson and his wife Emma Jane Daniels, had a

farm in IOWA. I don't know where it was located. He had a brother  Carl A.Owenson who later lived in North Dakota and died in LosAngeles county, California, December 20, 1960. Carl was born in Illinois in 1876. Arthur John was supposed to have come from Norway when he was five yours old, but I have nothing to confirm it. He was born in 1869.  I find this name is Scot and Irish, so maybe I am not a Norwegian as I have thought all these years. I don't know what his fathers first name was, unless it was Arthur also. His mother was Emma Bennett. MORE names I have of the Owensons are from

Grandma's BIBLE.

My g-g-grandfather, JEREMIAH FULLER, states in an affadavit from his Civil War pension file that he was married and divorced from VIRGINIA LABAR in Keokuk, Iowa.  He moved there in 1873 and stated they were divorced in April 1876.  Jeremiah (or Jerry) then moved from Iowa in 1879. 

Interested in hearing from anyone researching the names FULLER or LABAR.

Information from family members is that he was possibly adopted by Jacob and Anna (nee Halfmann) Remackel.  Frank would put Davenport Iowa on his various applications and other documents.

Solman, b:  1904?, Ft. Snelling, Hennipen Co., Mn.; They lived at 1515 Spruce Place, Apt.201 about 1924-1925 and 1929 S. Fremont Ave., Apt.36 about 1926,

Minneapolis, Mn.; Lionel was an elevator operator and Margaret was a stenographer for George A. Clark and Son, Inc.; They possibly had three children.
