Jennie Amacher and Robert Huebner


Bob and Jennie Huebner Jennie, born on August 15, 1885, was the second of John and Carrie's children.

Jennie Amacher married Robert Jules Huebner Sr. on October 25, 1909 in the Old Stone Church in Cleveland. Robert Sr. was born in Cleveland on April 16, 1887 to Karl Wolhelm Huebner and Mary H. Differt. Karl Huebner was born in November, 1863 in Wutenburg, Germany to Carl Johann Juebner and Johanna Emilie Ruhoff. Mary Differet was born in September, 1893 in Prussia to John Differt and Marie Ehl. Karl Huebner died when his son was quite young. Robert Sr. earned money by taking buckets of beer to the workmen working on the Terminal Tower. He earned 1/2 cent a bucket. Later Bob Sr. operated Huebner Electric and Ignition Service at East 66th Street.

This picture shows Bob and Jennie Huebner. Bob's son adds that the picture was were probably taken at one of the huge family reunions he can remember attending.

Jennie Amacher Huebner died on April 29, 1945 and was laid to rest in the same plot as her sister Addie at Lake View Cemetery, 125th and Euclid Avenue, Bernice and George Kaufman Cleveland Ohio. After Jennie's death, Bob was briefly married to Elsie. Bob's third wife was Katherine Marvel. His son says that Katherine was "very good for my father." Bob Sr. died on May 4, 1955 and was laid to rest with Jennie and Addie in Lake View Cemetery.

Jennie and Bob had two children, Bernice Adeline Huebner, born on September 9, 1910 and Robert Jules Huebner Jr. born on May 15, 1928. Bernice married George Edward Kaufman (pictured here) on January 27, 1934. Bernice and George had three children, the twins, JoAnne and Jacqueline Lee born on June 2, 1938 and George Edward Kaufman, Jr. born on June 14, 1959. Both girls are grads of Ohio Northern with teaching as their major. JoAnne is a teacher in the Los Angels school system and is married to Verl Bertrand Lobb who works at the Jet Propulsion Laboratories. Jacqueline married George E. Rudd in December, 1959. Their girls are Laura Ann Rudd and Brandy Rudd. Jacqueline teaches in the Columbus area.

Bob Jr. attended Fenn College and later Cleveland State University.When asked his major, he replies, "fooling around," but finally admits that he has a B.A. in Mathematics. Bob is a design engineer who does computer-assisted drafting.information about the family like the tid-bit about John Amacher being an army deserter. Bob has provided priceless We share family photographs on computer disk.

Bob Huebner's Birthday Party Bob provided the next picture taken around 1932 of his birthday party, with the birthday boy, the curly-haired angel in the shorts in the middle and Harold Amacher partially cut off in the upper left. Bob's wife Mary Ann Michalsky died in 1983. Bob points out that he is the last of the Huebner line. Bob has no children and "everyone else had girls." Bob met his "friend," Pat, at a square dance. He talked about her constantly, and together they pursued genealogy and square dancing.

Bob passed away on November 1, 2001. His obituary read:

HUEBNER ROBERT J. HUEBNER, age 73, of Broadview Hts. previously Parma. Died Nov. 1, 2001 of complications after heart surgery. Son of the late Robert and Jennie (nee Amacher), and brothr of the late Bernice Kaufman (George). Robert was retired from TRW and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was active with radio control airplanes, square dancing and geneology. He leaves to treasure his memory companion, Pat Eirman, Nieces, Joanne Lobb (Verl) of CA, Jacqueline Ford and the late (Bob) of Columbus, OH, and nephew, George Kauffman of Cleveland, and many cousins. I am very grateful to Bob for all of his help and was so very pleased for the day in August, 1999 when he helped me find the resting place of my great-grandparents, Ignatz S(z)narbach and Julianna Zielinski in Calvary Cemetery.
