Mary Margaret Tarno was born 05 May 1857. Census records indicate her place of birth as Missouri but her death certificate has Donethan, Iowa. Mary was the oldest of ten known children born to Henry and Nancy Sheffield Tarno.

Mary Margaret married William Andrew Lindsey 17 December 1879 in Woodruff County, Arkansas (Book: B, p: 296). William was born 04 February 1851. According to his death record, he was born in Marshall, Arkansas.

 Known children of Mary Tarno and William Lindsey are:

1. William Edward Lindsey was born 06 August 1881 in Woodruff County, Arkansas and died 02 February 1948 in Arkansas.  He married Nannie Lane Stoker 17 December 1913 in Woodruff County, Arkansas, daughter of R. W. Stoker and Alice Jelks. She was born 18 May 1886, and died 17 February 1975 in Sam Houston Memorial Hospital in Harris County, Texas (Death certificate). William and Nannie are buried in Fakes Cemetery, Woodruff County.

NOTE: The Woodruff County marriage record index has the bride's name spelled as "Namie Stokes".

2. Walter Lee Lindsey was born 21 December 1886 in Woodruff County, Arkansas and died 09 August 1966 in Searcy, Arkansas. He married Clara C. Murray 15 May 1914 in Woodruff County, Arkansas. Clara was born 09 Jul 1896 and died 29 Nov 1988 in Woodruff County, Arkansas.

3. Nancy Lina Lavurnes Lindsey was born 10 April 1892 in Woodruff County, Arkansas and died 26 February 1969 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas (Death certificate) She married Charles Festus "Fess" Polk 15 May 1922 in Woodruff County, Arkansas (Marriage Bond filed in Howard County, Arkansas). He was the son of Charles J. Polk and Sara Dowdy. Fess was born 19 July 1894 and died March 1971 in Terrell, Kaufman, Texas. They are buried in College Mound Cemetery in Terrell, Texas.

William Andrew Lindsey died 15 December 1921 in DeView, Woodruff County, Arkansas. He is buried in an unmarked grave in Fakes Cemetery in Woodruff County, Arkansas (Source: Woodruff County Cemeteries and Death certificate))

Mary Margaret left Arkansas after William died and was living in Terrell, Texas with Fess and LaVernus Polk when the 1930 census was taken.

Mary Margaret Tarno Lindsey died 20 August 1933 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas (Death certificate). She is buried in an unmarked grave in Wilson Chapel Cemetery southeast of Oak Grove, in Kaufman County.
