THIS INDENTURE made the third day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and thirty two between Peter TATUM of St. Andrews
Parish in Brunswick County of the one part and Edward TATUM of the said parish
and county of the other part WITNESSETH that ye said Peter TATUM for and in
consideration of three pounds five shillings sterling to him in hand paid by ye
said
Edward TATUM whereof doth hereby acknowledge ye receipt, HATH bargained
sold and doth by these presents bargain and sell unto the said Edward TATUM his
exe'rs, adm'rs and assigns two hundred and twenty seven acres of land on ye
south
side of Reedy Creek lying and being in ye parish aforesaid Bounded and equally
divided by ye said Peter and Edward TATUM by a line of blazed trees, BEGINNING
at a hickory on a small branch to a marked white oake at ye head of the branch
between ye said Peter and Edward TATUM's plantations and being half the
land granted to the said Peter TATUM by patent bearing date of twenty eighth of
September one thousand seven hundred and twenty eight be the same as or less,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD ye said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances
unto ye said Edward TATUM his executors adm'rs and assigns from the day next
before the date hereof for and during the term of a whole year from thence next
ensuing and fully to be compleat and ended hereby declared that these presents
are so made and attested that by virtue and force of the Statute made in ye sev
and twentieth year of the Reign of King Henry the Eighth for the transferring
uses
into possession reg'd said Edward TATUM may be enabled to take a grant and
release to execute ye estate of aforesaid premises: ye said Edward TATUM his
heirs and assigns for ever IN WITNESS whereof the said Peter TATUM hath
hereunto put his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written

Between Peter TATUM of St. Andrew's Parish in Brunswick County of the one
part and Edward TATUM of ye said parish and county of ye other part.
WHEREAS ye said Peter TATUM by Indenture bearing date ye day before the
date of these presents for the consideration therein expressed HATH
bargained and sold unto ye said Edward TATUM one parcel or tract of land
lying and being in ye parish of St. Andrews in ye Co'ty of Brunswick
Containing two hundred and twenty seven acres bounded as in ye said
indenture is mentioned to be held with the appurtenances by ye said Edward
TATUM, his executors, adm'rs, and assigns from ye date next before ye date of
ye said recited indenture for and during ye term of one whole year from thence
next ensuing and fully to be compleat and ended to ye intent that by virtue and
force of ye statute made in ye sev and twentieth year of ye Reign of King Henry
ye Eighth for ye transferring Uses into possession he ye said Edward TATUM
may be enabled to take a grant and release to execute ye estate of ye reversion
in him and his heirs to ye Use of him, his heirs and assigns for ever as by ye said
recited indenture more at large______appeareth Now this INDENTURE
WITNESSETH of ye said Peter Tatum for and in consideration of 2 pounds 2
shillings current money to him in hand paid by ye said Edward TATUM whereof
he doth hereby acknowledge the receipt hath remissed, released, and confirmed
And doth by these presents remise, release and confirm unto ye said Edward
TATUM in his actual possession now being by virtue of the said Recited
Indenture of Bargain and Sail made to him of a year and of the ____to his heirs
and assigns ye aforesaid premises with ye appurtenances and all ye estate
right and title and interest of ye said Peter TATUM of in and to ye same and
every part of parcel thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD ye said land and premises
with ye appurtenances unto ye said Edward TATUM his heirs and assigns for
ever to ye only use and behoof of ye said Edward TATUM his heirs assigns for
ever andalso of ye said Peter TATUM and any heirs ye said parcell of land and
others ye premises with ye appurtenances to ye said Edward TATUM his heirs
and assigns to his and their own proper use and uses against all persons
whatsoever will warrant and forever defend by these presents

whereof ye said Peter TATUM hath hereunto set his hand and seal ye Day and
