Smith Cemetery is located in the eastern
part of the city of Irving in Dallas County, Texas. The cemetery is located at the end of Penn Street on the right
hand side of the road. The directions
to the cemetery are as follows:
1. Take Grauwyler Road east from Walton Walker Blvd, turn
right on Maryland, then right on Penn.
2. Take Union Bower east from Walton Walker Blvd, turn left on Wildwood, then right on Hinton. Hinton makes a curve to the left and becomes Maryland, then take a left on Penn.
This cemetery contains a number of graves
that are marked with concrete blocks with no names, or with unknown written on
them. Sometime between January 29, 2002
and July 31, 2002 vandals entered this cemetery and pushed over several of the
larger tombstones, fortunately none of the tombstones were broken in the
process.
