Aghade, Ardattin & Ballinastraw ....................................New 19 July 2007

Located in Co.Carlow, just north of Adattin village, the church at Aghade, the adjacent farm of Ballinastraw and the estates at Ballynoe and Ballintemple are referred to frequently in the Tennant family Irish history.

The grave of Thomas Tennant and his wife Judith Butler are reputed to be at this church but all I have found is the stone for their son Richard(1748-1771) and his brother Robert's baby,Thomas, who was buried with Richard in 1775. Richard was also brother of the Thomas who emigrated to Canada. The stone inscription is shown in the Carlow to Lanark book excerpt but with errors.
