The branches on my "tree" grow larger and larger as I attempt to cultivate the ground around it ... (diggin' for those roots).
No famous heros or political leaders have been discovered amongst my branches, but the lives I have uncovered all have their story to tell. I have discovered a couple of horsethieves and a few bootleggers, which tends to add spice to those stories. Many of my ancestors were poor, hard working farmers, although, there were a few that were wealthy land owners in the South before the Civil War.
No matter their status, I have found it very statisfying tracking them down and "listening" as the wind rustles the leaves to help reveal my past.
