Sept. 16, 2003 - Added the original index to the BIA Inventory (Wash. DC area). The page numbers apply to the printed version so have no use here. It will take some time to rewrite all the page numbers and add appropriate links.
Aug. 29, 2003 - Completed transcription of the BIA Inventory (Wash., D.C. area). I have yet to add all links in the Inventory. The original index will take considerable time to transcribe.
Aug. 2003 - Well, the news from the Archives was that they could not find the census in the Bureau of Indian Affairs records (Record group 75) OR the records relating to Creek Removal. They DID find the original letter referring to the census. They suggested the census may have been forwarded to other record Groups...

July 21, 2003 - Added an abstract of expenditures made by the Lt. Col. John J. Abert, Commissioner, under the treaty of the 24th March, 1832, for the relief of the Creek Indians; pursuant to instructions from the War Department of the 2d May, 1832.

May 24, 2003 - Added an index to the Creek Indian soldiers who served the U. S. during the Indian Wars. This includes the "friendly" Creeks who helped the U. S. during the 1st Seminole War in 1817-18, the Creek uprisings in 1836-7, and the 2nd Seminole War 1836-43.

Oct. 30, 2002 - Added a feature where you can customize your background image. This works in IE and Netscape. If it does not work make sure you have your browser's "cookie" ability turned on. The "cookie" used expires in one year. Added indexes to the list of "Vaccinations in the Creek and Cherokee Nations, 1832".
Oct. 23, 2002 - Added 1863 Refugee Creek & Euchee Indian Census.
Oct. 2002 - Research News!! - I found out that there was Creek Nation census taken in 1843. I will attempt to get a copy of it from the National Archives in Washington D.C. and transcribe it. From correspondence it appears it was full census taken house to house and listing at least the heads of families and possibly the members of the families in age groups. This census would fill the gap between the 1832 census and the 1857-59 census/payrolls.

May 24, 2002 - Added a new first name index to the 1870
Loyal Creek abstract. This replaces the previous first name index that only
indexed persons with a single name(no surname). The index now lists all names
including persons with surnames.
Added a first name index to the 1869 Dunn
Roll (Freedmen) transcription. This is more helpful in locating persons
whose last name changed. The original 1869 Dunn roll (Freedmen) roll also had a
first name index.

Aug. 12, 2001 - Well, yet another mutation of Creek Indian Researcher. I took down the "tree" background and replaced it with this gradient background. I also brought back those little arrows to give the site a bit more "native" feel. On some of the longer pages Netscape viewers may see the background restart because Netscape doesn't allow fixed backgrounds. I partially remedied this by making the background 5000 pixels high.
