Garden Island

Garden Island has never had a church.
It's inhabitants go to Wolfe Island or Kingston.

The excerpt below is from A Shipping Empire GARDEN ISLAND
by Donald Swainson
It has been noted that Garden Island possessed no church, an apparent anomaly in a society led by a deeply religious man. In a recent research paper, Sarah Edinborough explained the logic of this omission: Faced with a company town which comprised French and English, Catholic and Protestant alike, Calvin obviously saw no point in building a church for one faith when it would do little but antagonize the others. The compromise which Garden Island learned to live with was very open-minded for the nineteenth century. . . .
