Image From AM Benson *** From The Ontario Register 1780s-1870s, The Loyalists in Ontario, Sons & Daughters of American Loyalists, p 239-40. OC=Orders in Council. Loyalists who settled in Ontario were given land grants in recognition of their losses and services during the American Rev. War. Provision was made that each of their children were also became eligible for land grants free of fees as they came or age or were married. As these sons and daughters petitioned for lands, there was a notation was made for the authorization for each grant in the records of the Council of Upper Canada - Orders in Council. The family listings were compiled by Mr.Wm. Reid, an archivist at the Ontario Archives. The list (supposedly) lists the Loyalist father and children.
