WO. Millard H. Horne, RCAF, is reported missing in action over enemy territory since Jan. 8, according to official word received from Ottawa by his wife, the former Betty Huff of Prescott.
W.O. Horne was born on Wolfe Island, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Horne. He is the brother of Mrs. Gordon MacDonald and Miss Connie Horne also of Wolfe Island and Mrs. Archie Running, Mrs. Robert Black, Mrs. Keith Christy and Miss Eunice Horne, all of Kingston. His only brother, PO. Laurence Horne is in action with the Royal Canadian Navy, having just left for the east coast after 21 days furlough with his parents and friends.
WO. Millard Horne enlisted in the RCAF in June, 1943, and trained at Guelph, where he graduated as wireless air gunner and from there proceeded to St. John�s Que., where he acted as an instructor until being sent overseas in March of last year.
Since arriving overseas he has earned two promotions, his latest to warrant officer being confirmed in letters received by his relatives only the day before he was reported missing.
He is well know in the town of Gananoque, having completed his high school training there, also working in the Aluminum Company of Canada here where he was employed for a period of two years prior to his enlistment. He will be remembered by a large number of fellow-workers and school day pals as �Trader�
