THE ISLANDS NEWSLETTER

June 30, 2004What's new at The Islands page!
Happy Canada Day
Hello everyone!

Happy Canada Day to all the Canadian subscribers and Happy Independence Day to those in the USA.

Submissions are coming in at a good rate... more on this in this newsletter..
My apologizes to being slow in answering some emails and working on the page the last week or so, we had some computer problems which are mostly fixed now. Hubby had to rebuild the computer-still waiting for the word program to be put back on and for my printer to be hooked up! Hopefully tomorrow..

A few notes..

I received this yesterday:

Volunteer STILL Needed Can anyone look this up for the site?
?Canada's Gallant Volunteers of 1837-38: Roll Call, Winter of 1890-91,? The listing is a consolidation of lists of names ?prepared through the patriotic efforts of George Merrill of Belleville. published by the British Whig, Kingston, in winter of 1891.? This can be found on microfilm or at Queens, Stauffer Library in Kingston-if you will look this up please email me. I have been told there are a number of islanders listed.

EVERYONE! Please don't forget to put the word 'ISLAND' somewhere in your subject line when you email me! I know I'm missing some of your emails because there is no subject line, or it is 'hi' or something similar and I delete it. I get A LOT of spam and don't take the time to check every email- I look at my subject lines. Thank you.

Currently in the works

Aaron Reid has sent in over 50 Willowbank tombstones (Willowbank is on the mainland north of the islands- contains many Howe Islanders in particular.)
I also have a bunch of marriage related items (registrations, announcements etc) to go up.
So keep checking back to the main page for The Islands to see how progress is going on all these great new things to come.
If you have anything you would like to submit DO send them in now! I'll put them up as soon as possible!

(note: submissions for the Island Researchers page are put up as soon as possible after they are sent in)
