Woman Dies at 84
BROWNVILLE--Mrs. Isabel F. McAVOY PARKER,
84 widow of George H. Parker, died at 7 this morning at the home of her sister, Miss M. Mildred McAVOY, following 15 years of illness.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, Rev Edward Eskra, pastor of the Dexter Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday night from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene J., supervisor of the Town of Brownville, and George, West Falls; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and her sister, Miss McAvoy, with whom she lived.
Born May 22, 1888 on Wolfe Island, daughter of James and Anna Briggs McAvoy, she came to this village with her parents, was graduated from the local schools and taught for a time locally.
On June 25, 1917, she was married to George H. Parker, a local cattle dealer and operator of a meat market. Mr. Parker died Feb 5, 1960.
Mrs. Parker was a member of the Dexter Presbyterian Church, the Brownville Eastern Star chapter and of the fire department auxiliary.

Miss Mildred McAvoy Dies

BROWNVILLE--Miss M. MILDRED MC AVOY,
93, Main Street, retired music supervisor, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she had been admitted Feb. 19.
The funeral was scheduled for this afternoon at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter, with the Rev. John Hatt, former pastor of the Brownville Presbyterian Church, and Rev. William Smyte, paster of the Dexter First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Brownville Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in her name to the Dexter Ambulance Fund.
She is survived by a niece and nephews, including, Eugene J. Parker, Town of Brownville supervisor, George Parker, Miami, Fla., Harold Humphrey, Cape Vincent, and Geraldine Thompson, Three Mile Bay. Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Galloway, and Mrs. Isabel Parker and a step-sister, Mrs. Beulah Humphrey, died before her.
Born Aug. 31, 1885, on Wolfe Island, a daughter of James and Anna Briggs McAvoy, she moved to Brownville in 1890 with her mother following her father's death. She was graduated from Brownville High School and the Crane School of Music, Potsdam.
She served as music director in several communities and retired from the Syracuse School system as a music supervisor 20 years ago. She then returned to Brownsville.
She was a life member of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the Brownville-Glen Park Senior Citizens Club.

Widow of B. O. Galloway Dies

Brownville, Dec 29--Mrs. Sarah MAC AVOY GALLOWAY,
69, died at her home here at 10 this morning. She had been ill since August, when she underwent a major operation.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the home, Rev. Dr. John Campbell of Tupper Lake and Rev. Robert S. Little, Presbyterian pastor for Dexter and Brownville, officiating. Burial will be made in Brownville cemetery.
Mrs. Galloway was born on Wolfe Island, Ont. a daughter of James and Anna Briggs MacAvoy. Her mother later became Mrs. William Ingerson of Brownville.
Mrs. Galloway was a graduate of Brownville High school and the Watertown School of Commerce. She was married to Brandt Oakes Galloway in Watertown, Aug. 29, 1917.
Mr. Galloway was killed in action in France in World War I, in October, 1918.
Mrs. Galloway was a life-long member of the Brownville Presbyterian church.
Surviving are two sisters, Miss Mildred MacAvoy and Mrs. George H. (Isabel) Parker, both of Brownville; three nephews, George M. Parker, Newburge; Eugene Parker, Brownville, and Harold Humphrey, Cape Vincent, and a niece Mrs. Geraldine Humphrey Thompson, Three Mile Bay.

Wolfe Island Native Succumbs at 67
Employed at Linden Cove

Resident of Farm Near Alexandria Bay Was Employed for Past 29 Years at Summer Home of Mrs. J. H. Brown -- Last Rites on Tuesday.
Alexandria Bay, 3 March 1941 -- Bernard D. Snow, 67, caretaker and farmer, died at his home about a mile from this village on the Alexandria Bay - Clayton road at 8:30 Sunday morning. Mr. Snow was stricken by a stroke April 27 [last year?] and had been confined to his home since then.
He was born on Wolfe Island, Ont., 12 July 1873, the son of Norman D. [sic - should be L.] and Lucina Rogers Snow. He lived on the island until he was seven years old. His family then moved to Cape Vincent and later to Barnes Settlement.
He married Miss Sarah Walts of Alexandria Bay about 47 years ago. She died in 1910 [possibly in 1911 according to her gravestone inscription - ds]. In 1913 he married Miss Nellie Ward of Alexandria Bay. For the past 29 years he had been employed as caretaker of Linden Cove, the summer home of Mrs. J. H. Brown of New York City. He had lived on the farm where he died for the past 25 years.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Eula Hubbard of Pulaski, Misses Betty Snow and Marguerite Snow who live at home; six sons, Clarence H. Snow of Syracuse, Bernard W. Snow of Rochester, and Nelson H., John S., Richard C., and Robert who live at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Cranker of Alexandria Bay, Mrs. Nellie Petrie of Evans Mills and Mrs. George Britton of Syracuse.
Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2. Rev. Roger F. Williams, pastor of the Alexandria Bay Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be made in the Barnes Settlement cemetery.

Mrs. Nettie S. Cranker Dead
Alexandria Bay -- Mrs. Nettie Snow Cranker died this morning at 1:40 at the Ivey Nursing Home, Alexandria Bay, where she had been a patient since February, 1951. Death was attributed chiefly to infirmities of old age.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon at the home of a nephew Emory Fults, Pamelia Four Corners. Rev. Walter S. Dobbie, pastor of the First Methodist Church of this village, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at Omar. Bearers will be nephews.
Surviving Mrs. Cranker are a son Charles Cranker, R. D. 4, Carthage, and nephews and nieces.
She was born on Wolfe Island, Ont., 23 April 1863, a daughter of the late Norman and Lucina Snow. Her early days were spent on Wolfe Island. She was married to Sidney Cranker as a young woman and she came to his country upon her marriage.
Mr. and Mrs. Cranker resided at Evans Mills and various other places in Jefferson County prior to moving to this village, where he died in 1917. Mrs. Cranker continued to reside here after his death.
Her twin sister, Mrs. Nellie Petrie, died on 23 April 1946, her [Nellie Petrie's] 83rd birthday, near Pamelia Four Corners.

Woman, Aged 83, Dies on Birthday
Mrs. Nellie W. Petrie
, Pamelia, Expires -- Funeral Services Thursday Theresa -- Mrs. Nellie Wadsworth Petrie, Pamelia, died on her 83rd birthday Tuesday at the home of her son Arthur, with whom she resided, near Pamelia Four Corners. She was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage Saturday as the family was preparing to celebrate her birthday Tuesday. She had been active until Saturday, having gone visiting at Orleans on Friday.
She was born 23 April 1863 at Cape Vincent [sic - more likely Wolfe Island, Ontario where her twin sister Nettie was supposedly born], daughter of Norman and Lucina Snow. Her early life was spent there and on Wolfe Island. Her father was a native of Rhode Island [no evidence yet found to support this statement].
She was married to Ogilvie Petrie 3 April 1888 and resided at Omar and for the last 34 years at Pamelia. The Petrie farm has been in the same family 70 years.
She had been a member of Pamelia Grange for 55 years, a member of Pigsah chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and all four of her daughters are members of this same chapter, and her son is a member of the Masonic lodge at Evans Mills. She attended the Methodist church at Evans Mills. She is survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. George (Minnie) Zimmer, Redwood, and four daughters, Mrs. Jay (Jennie) Countryman, Brownville; Mrs. Harold (Edith) Danough, 903 Franklin St., Watertown; Mrs. Emory (Ella) Fults, Evans Mills; and Mrs. Harold (Nellie) Countryman, Watertown; one son, Arthur, Pamelia; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A grandson, Arland Countryman, lost his life in World War II. There were two sisters surviving, one a twin, Mrs. Nettie Cranker, Evans Mills, and Mrs. George (Minnie) Britton, Syracuse.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon from the home, Rev. Walter J. Suits, pastor of the Methodist church, Evans Mills, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Omar cemetery.

MRS. HARRIET C. PUTNAM, 93, DIES
Spent Almost Entire Life in Town of Clayton School Teacher Years Ago While Teaching at Three Mile Creek in Civil War Days She Came to Her School One Morn- ing to Find Indians Picking Chickens There -- Her Husband, Amon T. Putnam Dead 30 Years.

Clayton, March 6.--Mrs. Harriet Carter Putnam, 93, who as the teacher of the Three Mile Creek school of Civil war days chased Indians from the school house on at least on occasion, died at her home on the Bluff road in this township at 2:30 p.m., Monday. She had been ill six weeks but had enjoyed good health previous to her sickness.
Educated in the town's district schools and at a select school, she taught for several years before her marriage to the late Amon T. Putnam at Cape Vincent June 4, 1867. One morning she arrived at her school to find that it had become the rendezvous of a gang of Indians after a successful raid on neighborhood farmers' chicken houses. They were cleaning the birds there. At her arrival they departed though, leaving only feathers to be cleaned up.
She was the youngest and the last of ten children of Isaac and Mary Babcock Carter and was born on Wolfe Island, Dec. 30, 1840. While she was teaching school four of her brothers were away fighting with the Union armies in the Civil war. One, John, died, starved to death, at Andersonville prison.
Her parents were natives of the town of Clayton where they had been pioneer settlers and soon after her birth they returned to the township from Wolfe Island. The rest of her life was spent therein. When a child she and her family lived in the village. At her marriage she and her husband settled on the farm, where she died, and spent the rest of their lives there. Mr. Putnam died 20 years ago.
Mrs. Putnam was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the St. Lawrence grange.
Surviving are one son, C. A. Putnam, Clayton; one daughter, Mrs. A. E. Rice, Chaumont; six grandchildren, Mrs. R.S. Holliday, St. Lawrence; Leland Rice, Chaumont; Miles Putnam, Clayton; Ross and James H. Lingenfelter, Brownville; Mrs. E. K. Brown, Brownville; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Another daughter died when she was five years old.
The funeral will be held from the home at 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. W. O. Thomas, pastor of the Clayton Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence.
Typist's note: The obit doesn't address Harriet's first marriage to a Hyde -- however, Leland Rice, the family historian, mentioned the marriage in his accounting of the family.

Irene E. King,94,Expires

Mrs Irene E. King,94.of 31 Wardwell St.,Adams,widow of Henry M.(Ray)King and former employee of W.S.Rice Inc.,died Sunday Nov.6,at Madonna Home. Mercy Hospital,where she was a patient for five years.
Funeral services were Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal church,Adams,with Rev.Cecil Wagstaff,pastor,officiating. Burial was in Depauville Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her name to the South Jefferson Rescue Squad or the church memorial Fund.
Survivors include one daughter Flora I. King,Adams;nieces,nephews and cousins. Four sisters and two brothers died before her.
She was born July 9,1889. on Wolfe Island,Ont.,the daughter of Charles and Isabelle Bamford Halliday. She was educated on Wolfe Island. She married Henry M. (Ray) King on Jan.12,1910 at Christ Episcopal Church,Clayton. Following the marriage,the couple lived on the King family farm in the town of Clayton. After running the farm for a dozen years,they moved to Adams in 1922.
Both Mr. and Mrs. King were employees of W.S.Rice co.,Mr. King for 27 years and Mrs. King for 15 years.(one clipping said 25 years.) Mr. King died Dec.22,1955 at the age of 72.
Mrs. King was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church,Adams.

Henry Edward Halliday,
73,of the Historical Park Apts.,died May 10,1979, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital Center after a breif illness. Mr. Halliday was born April 6,1901 at Wolfe Island,Ontario,Canada,son of the late Charles and Isabelle Mae Bamford Halliday. Mr. Halliday came to this country and Perch River,N.Y. with his family on November 4,1907,and received his education in Perch River. He was married to Anne Laura (Shirley) Williams on May 6,1925 in Utica. After their marriage,the couple made their home in Utica. Mrs. Halliday died January 1,1972. Mr. Halliday was employed as a carpender for local contractors from 1931 to 1955. He later was employed as a security guard at General Electric for 10 years,retiring in 1966. He attended All Saints Episcopal Church. He is survived by two sons,Robert Henry Halliday,Marcy and Eugene F. Halliday,Suffolk,Va.;two sisters ,Mrs. Howard(Grace)Cheever,Clayton,N.Y. and Mrs. Henry"Ray" (Irene) King of Adams,N.Y. Mr. Halliday is also survived by three grandchildren, Roberta Ann Halliday and James R. Halliday,both of Marcy,and Mrs. James(Roxanne) Mark of Horseheads,N.Y. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the John S. Friedel Funeral Home,Inc. Court at York Sts. with the Rev. Tim S. Hall officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home.

Arthur Ward Vincent,83,Dies in South
Arthur W.Vincent,83,of Orlando,Florida,formerly of Jefferson county,died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Orlando General Hospital,Orlando,Fla.,where he had been a patient three weeks and had undergone surgery.
The body will arrive by plane in Syracuse today at 4:10 p.m. and be brought to the Johnson funeral home,Dexter.
The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Johnson funeral home. Burial in the spring will be in Depauville cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Surviving are his wife,Mrs. Marjorie Halliday Vincent;a daughter,Mrs. Leon (Grace M.) Dickinson,Orlando,with whom they lived;two sons:Charles L.,Tucson,Ariz.,and Ross A. ,Adams Center;a brother, Otto,Three Mile Bay; ten grandchildren,and 14 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters,Mrs.Blanche Hayes and Mrs. Ella Littlefield;three brothers Lansing, Everett (Skip) and L. Seaton who died last Jan.5,and a half-brother,Dr. Waterman A. Vincent ,and a half-sister,Mrs.Irene (Ida) Phillips, are dead. A son Everett,12,was accidentally electrocuted in 1929.
Mr. Vincent was born in the town of Clayton,Aug.11,1883,a son of Leonard and Clara Ross Vincent. He spent his early life near LaFargeville. On June 23,1905(misprint correct date on marriage licence is June 14,1905) he married Miss Marjorie Halliday of Wolfe Island,there. They lived at the Vincent homestead during their early married life.Mr. Vincent worked at the Dexter Sulphite mill before operating farms in various communities in Jefferson county,including Rice and Woodville and last at Camps Mills.They also had lived at Brownville with their daughter at one time.
In 1947,Mr. and Mrs. Vincent drove to Alaska,with a trailer,and stayed there until 1950,when they came to Evans Mills. They lived there until 1956 when they moved to Florida.
Note: He was one of 10 children of Leonard and Clara Ross Vincent. Not mention in Obit was sister Christina (Tina)and brothers Berne and Grover who died years before. Also his daughter and family, Grace and Leon Dickinson with two small girls Nancy and Thelma(myself) in 1947 drove to Alaska, where his son Charles lived.
Death was due to Carcenoma of the Sigmoid colon,Cardiac failure and overwhelming toxcity.

,80,formerly of Watertown,and a retired railroad engineer,died this morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital,Syracuse, where he had been admitted May 31. He had been a resident of Bender's Nursing Home,Lowville,before entering the hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11a.m. at the Simpson Funeral Home,with Rev. Roswell G. Williams,rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church,officiating. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
He is survived by an aunt,Mrs. Edith Foley, 1026 Gill St. and cousins, Mrs. Gladys Fowler,1026 Gill St.,Mrs. Jeanette Shaver and Carl Thomas,Alexandria Bay,and Leon Thomas, Long Island.
Born in Brownville Dec.8, 1895, a son of Marshall (Montie) and Maude Gardner Vincent,he was a veteran of World War 1,having served overseas. He was married and divorced several years ago.
Mr. Vincent was an engineer on the railroad in Detroit and with the New York Central Railroad,Watertown, for many years. He was a member of the former Watertown Naval Militia.

Ora M. Snow, 67, Omar, Dies
One of the Organizers of LaFargeville Bank Drops Dead At His Home Heart Disease Believed Cause of Death -- He Was Salesman for the Omar Cheese Factory for Years.

Omar -- Ora M. Snow, 67, prominent local resident and one of the organizers of the LaFargeville National Bank, dropped dead as he was about to step through the door of his home here this morning. He complained of illness Friday night, but felt fairly well early today. Mr. Snow arose early and went downstairs to fix the fire. After that he donned his coat and hat and started out of the house. Before he crossed the threshold he expired. Heart disease is said to have caused his death. Mr. Snow, who had retired, was for many years salesman for the Omar cheese factory. He was a director of the LaFargeville National bank for two years after it was established. He was a prominent member of the local grange and was an official member of the Omar Methodist Episcopal church, being a member of the board of trustees for years.
He was born on Wolfe Island but had spent most of his life in this section. His widow is the former Miss Carrie Tyler of Collins Landing. He is also survived by two brothers, Bernard and William, of Alexandria Bay, and two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert [sic -should be Ogilvie] Petrie of Evans Mills, and Mrs. E. G. Cranker [should be S. Cranker] of Alexandria Bay.
Funeral services will be held from the home here Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and from the local Methodist Episcopal church at 2. Rev. C. V. Sparling, Lafargeville, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Plessis.

W. D. Snow, 63, Dies Suddenly
Alexandria Bay -- William D. Snow, 63, resident of the village for the past 50 years, died suddenly at 8:55 Wednesday evening in bed at his home, after a three years' illness. Mr. Snow was stricken with paralysis three years ago and had been in poor health since then.
Dr. L. L. Samson of Alexandria Bay was called, but the man[?] was dead when the doctor arrived. The physician said death was caused by a paralytic stroke. He notified Assistant District Attorney Carl J. Hynes and was appointed coroner's physician in the case.
Mr. Snow was born on Wolfe Island, Ontario, Canada, 11 Aug 1871, the son of Norman Snow and Lucina Rogers, and in his early childhood he moved with his parents to this village and had resided here since that time. Mr. Snow worked at the carpenter trade for a long time and for a period of ten years, ran a grocery store here. For the last ten years, Mr. Snow had retired from active work.
Thirty-nine years ago, Mr. Snow was married to Gertrude Hall, who survives him. They had lived at the family home on High Street for the past 25 years.
Mrs. Snow and two brothers, Millard Snow of Evans Mills and Bernard Snow of this village survive Mr. Snow. Three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Petrie of Evans Mills, Mrs. Nettie Cranker of this village and Mrs. Minnie Button [sic - should be Britton] of Syracuse also survive him.
Funeral services will be held from the home on High street at 2 Saturday afternoon with the Rev. William Aubrey, pastor of the local Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be made in Barnes Settlement cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie Britton Dies

Eaton, [NY] -- Mrs. Minnie Snow Britton, 89, of 614 Warren St., Chittenango, a former resident of Syracuse and Omar, died Thursday night in the Garrett Smith Infirmary after years of poor health.
The funeral will be at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Canastota, Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Omar Cemetery.
Born on Wolfe Island, Ontario, 8 Nov 1882, she was married to George W. Britton, who died 1 Sep 1953.
In recent years whe lived in Chittenango with her daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Geraldine) Slade. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Jenny Countryman, Brownville; eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

, 83, Watertown, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Samaritan Keep Home.
Born July 3, 1916, in Watertown, she was a daughter of Lewis and Mae Murray Ceigler of Belleville, Ontario.
She married Winfield Alexander Docteur, a native of Wolfe Island, on Nov. 23, 1935, at the home of Three Mile Bay Justice B. E. Rickett with Judge Rickett officiating. Mr. Docteur died July 26, 1964. She married George H. McIntyre on June 15, 1965, in Brownville Methodist Church. He died Aug. 7, 1967.
Surviving are a son, Lewis Docteur, Watertown; a daughter, Georgina Docteur, Germantown, Md.; a stepson, Lawrence Docteur, Watertown, and four stepdaughters, Thelma Dano, Clayton; Catherine Walker, Point Salubrious, Betty White, Clayton, and Doris Snyder, Orlando, Fla. A stepson, Hubert Docteur, died in 1933, and a stepdaughter, Marie LaRose, died March 9, 1999.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Reed and Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Age 64, died suddenly overnight on June 28, 2004 at the home she shared with her loving companion, Duncan Miner, on Wolfe Island. Sheena is survived by her three daughters and their families: Susette and her daughter Kayla of St. Catharines; Morag and Jeff and her children Megan, Lauren and Jeffrey of Oakville; and Aileen and Robert and their children Sarah and Alison of NewMarket. Friends will be received at the Robert J. Reid & Sons Funeral Home, 309 Johnson St. (at Barrie St.), Kingston on Friday, July 2nd between the hours of 6:00-8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, July 3rd from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. Service in the Chapel on the Corner, on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. followed by cremation. DANIEL E. CAREY

Daniel E. Carey, brother of Rev. Father Richard Carey, parish priest of Read, Ont., and formerly at Wolfe Island, died on Wednesday morning in Kingston, after being in ill-health for the past four years. The late Mr. Carey was born at Loughboro and had always lived there, carrying on farming successfully until coming to the city four years ago. He was a member of St. Patrick�s Church, Railton.
The remains of the late Mr. Carey will be resting at his residence, Sydenham, from Thursday afternoon and the funeral will be held on Friday morning at 9:00 o�clock to St. Patrick�s Church where requiem mass will be sung at nine o�clock.
The late Mr. Carey was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Carey of Loughboro and surviving him are two brothers and three sisters; Rev. Richard Carey of Read and Frank Carey of Toronto; Rev. Sister Mary Alice of the House of Providence, Kingston, Miss Mae Carey of Chicago and Mrs. George Patterson of Mount Chesney.

MRS. HOWARD TARRANT

Wolfe Island - Mrs. Howard Tarrant, wife of Howard Tarrant, well-known local merchant, died in the Kingston General Hospital after an illness of about three months. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Fawcett and was born and lived all her life on the Island. Surviving are her husband and three children, Robert, Mildred and Lois; also three brothers and two sisters, Oscar, Frank and Monty Fawcett all of Wolfe Island; Mrs. Wilfred Sproule of Westbrook and Mrs. Robert Bustard of Kingston.
The funeral took place on Monday morning from the family residence to Trinity Church where services were conducted by Rev. Jas. Dawe, assisted by Rev. Stanley Jackson of Westport, a former pastor. The pall-bearers were Stanley Woodman, Harold Horne, Thomas Browne Jr., Harold Germany, Rod McGregor and Eddie Edwards. Flower-bearers were John Mahoney, Craig Russell, Eugene Hogan, George Pyke, Kenneth MacDonald and Van MacAdoo.

MRS. DANIEL MCLAREN

At her home on Wolfe Island on Monday morning, there passed away Mrs. McLaren, wife of Daniel McLaren, aged seventy-two years. She was formerly Mary Elizabeth Murphy. The funeral will be held from her residence, Wolfe Island, on Wednesday morning at 9:30 o�clock, standard time, to Sacred Heart Church where requiem mass will be sung by Rev. J.F. Feeney.

MRS. DANIEL MCLAREN

Wolfe Island - The funeral of the late Mrs. Daniel McLaren took place to the Sacred Heart Church where requiem mass was sung by Rev. Father Feeney. The pall-bearers were: Dr. R. P. Millan, James O�Reilly, Harold Mulholland, John Gray, Malcolm McLaren and Wilfred Kingsley. Interment was made in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
