Samuel and Helen Rose
I never had the pleasure of knowing my grandfather Sam, he died three years before I was born. From what I know he was a gentle, kind and loving man. He was a hard working man, who loved having his family near him. My grandfather loved having his picture taken with his grandchildren as they sat on his shoulders (one at a time of course). I would have given anything to have known him.
I was named after my grandmother, everyone called her Helen, but her given name was Helene. She was such a beautiful person, everyone loved her! I remember as a child, she would come and stay with us for a few weeks out of the summer, all the children in the neighborhood would call her "Grandma"
I have been doing my family genealogy for three years, and I have been lucky with all the new information that I have received. Although, for this, I cannot take all of the credit. I could have never gotten to where I am today without the help of my family.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of my family members that have contributed information, photographs and their time, but also for putting up with my constant questions, letters and emails. My plan is to find it all, so I may be at this a while (smile). Dad, Uncle Bert, Uncle Stan, thank you so much for everything! Aunt Marie, please keep digging for more photos! Carol, we are almost there!!
I would also like to take this opportunity to offer a special thanks to my mom, who has spent numerous hours at her Family History Center searching microfilms for me when I was not able to get to mine, offering her suggestions and her help whenever needed.
I do not want to forget all of our newfound family members, Carol & Peter, Ceil, Val, Sister Elizabeth, Mel and Allis, I think finding you has been the best part of my research, I am sure our family is looking down and smiling at us, as it is through them, that we have come together.
