One-Name Study

Bob Jensen has spent incredible amounts of time and effort on Thrift genealogical research over the past several months. He has kept me posted as he goes along, sending me copies of his latest findings. Most branches of Thrifts Bob has studied have clear links, or at least suspected links, to Dinwiddie Co, VA. (But there are some that don't.)

I have now put those files online so that others can have access to Bob's data too. This work really is impressive and helpful. Note this is not the final form, this IS work in progress.

Please let me know if you find errors, or if you can contribute more information. Email me at rtx at cox dot net, and include "Bob Jensen data" in the subject.

I expect the data will be put into a more organized format sometime in the future. The files currently are not labeled clearly; it may not be obvious what each contains. If you are interested, you can browse these documents to see what's here. Otherwise, you can use this link to do a site search for individuals within this group of documents. (Replace the phrase "search term" with the name you want to find. In these documents, names are usually listed first name first.)

The individual pdf files are searchable using Acrobat's search icon, AND each pdf file has a very helpful index at its end.
Most of these people are also now in my searchable database,

UPDATE: Despite dealing with serious health issues, Bob has been hard at work. He has recently done extensive genealogical research into the Thrifts of South Carolina, and in particular those of Long Creek and Newberry Co. (Bob feels as I do that the Thrifts of Long Creek are probably closely related to the Thrifts of Dinwiddie Co. VA, and to the descendants of Isham Thrift of NC.) Unfortunately I have been busy with other things and don't have time right now to do justice to his work and present it in a well-organized format. To make his research available to you ASAP I will simply add links to his newest documents at the bottom of this page. I'll have to add his comments and hypotheses later.

(Web search engines such as the link given above may require a week or two after a document is posted here before they index the most recent information.)

As we learn more, we may find corrections to some of the info appearing on this page. When Bob sends me updated documents I will post them. Meanwhile, you can check for corrections and updates for individuals in my searchable database. As always, your additions and corrections are appreciated.
