Sarah Loulla "Lou" Thurman was born 14 November 1880 in Delta County, Texas. She married Thomas Milton Lewis 07 December 1904 in Hopkins County, Texas (Vol 11, p 574). He was the son of William Hudson Lewis and Carrie R. Lewis. Thomas Milton was born 06 November 1877 in Hopkins County, Texas (Probate Birth Vol: 12, p: 340).

  1. Thomas Hudson "Son" Lewis was born 12 April 1906 in Hopkins County, Texas (Probate Birth Vol: 14, p: 83). Thomas H. Lewis enlisted in the Army 12 Aug 1943 in Los Angeles, California. According to the enlistment record, he had 2 years of college and his residence was noted as Pima County, Arizona; he enlisted for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months. Thomas Hudson Lewis died 10 October 1957. He was buried 17 October 1957 in Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California (Department of Veteran Affairs Nationwide Gravesite Locator).

  2. Willie Nadine Lewis was born 07 July 1910 in Hopkins County, Texas. She married Jessie Purl Ballard 1935 in Tarrant County, Texas (Vol: 74, P: 502). He was the son of Mike and Alice Ballard. Jessie Purl was born 15 September 1907 in Stevenson, Jackson County, Alabama.
    Child of Willie Nadine Lewis and Jessie Ballard is:
    1. Jerald Patrick Ballard was born 02 May 1936, Tarrant County, Texas and died 28 July 2004. We cannot document where but his last residence was Alvarado, Johnson County, Texas. (SSDI) He is buried in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.
       
      Willie Nadine died 15 April 2005 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.
      Jessie Purl Ballard died 04 December 1996 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas|
      They are buried in Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas
       
       
  3. Mildred Louise "Mooch" Lewis was born 06 October 1919 in Hopkins County, Texas and died 04 March 2002 in Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida. She was married to Bob Huff. They had three daughters. Mildred Louise Huff is buried in Niles Cemetery in Berrien County, Michigan.
     
     
  4. Milton Elisha "Buck" Lewis was born 08 November 1921 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. Milton was 19 years old when enlisted in the U. S. Army on 9 Jul 1940. He served our country during WWII and Korea and became 1ST lieutenant in the U. S. Army Air Corps. Milton married Alice Elizabeth Root during September 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born 28 October 1910. Milton and Elizabeth lived in California until 1972 when they moved to Rogue Valley in Oregon.
    Elizabeth Lewis died 11 April 1996 in Oregon
    Milton Elisha Lewis died 14 June 1999 in Grants Pass, Josephine County, Oregon.
    They are buried in Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Jackson County, Oregon.

Loulla "Lou" Thurman Lewis died 03 April 1934 in Baylor Hospital, Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.

Mrs. Lewis Milton
    Died in Dallas Tuesday morning following an operation at St. Paul's Sanitarium Saturday a week ago. Deceased was a former Sulphur Springs resident, moving from here to Dallas about twelve years ago. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Miss Nadine Lewis, Ft. Worth; and Miss Mildred Lewis, Dallas; two sons, Thurmond Lewis, Mexico; Buckie Lewis, Dallas. Also by her mother Mrs. E. A. Thurmond, Quanah; two brothers, D. A. Thurmond, Sulphur Springs; Dr. W. E. Thurmond, Quanah; and the following sisters, Mrs. Wess Blalock, Green Pond; Mrs. Hattie Sparkman, Winfield; Mrs. Odene Detwaller, Kansas, and a sister in San Francisco, California. The remains were brought overland to the Murray Funeral Parlors and remained there till carried to Forest Academy where services and burial took place.

Thomas Milton Lewis died 05 February 1967 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.

They are buried in Forest Academy Cemetery, Hopkins County, Texas
