Thomas, son of Green Ham Crowder

Thomas Crowder

Thomas Crowder was the first known son of Green Ham Crowder and Virginia Brumley. According to census records, he was born between 1854 - 1857 in Texas. I have not found a marriage for him. Thomas and young William Crowder must have left Hopkins County shortly after the death of their mother. They are shown in the 1880 Shackelford County census living in their sister's household and working with their brother-in-law's cattle.

Maud Biard Smith wrote that Thomas Crowder was "Killed by lightning" in 1888. She did not state where he was when he died and we do not know where he is buried.
