I found in the Ramey Collection Vol. 101

David Hunt b_1826 son of James Hunt. Clement History of Pittsylvania County, VA (1929),p 194 Capt. William Dix, Lieutenant David Hunt, and Ensign Clement McDaniel commanded a company which marched from Pittsylvania In Aug of 178--- to help in Rev War.

In 1746 James & Ralph Hunt of Hanover bought land in Lunenburg (sp might be wrong) and there James Hunt married and reared his large family leaving seven sons: Charles, Nathaniel, James, Elijah, Gilbert, John and David.

David settled in Pittsylvania on Straightstone Creek where he built his home after the style of an English cottage. He married Nancy Richards (or Richardson) and he died in 1826, leaving a daughter who married George and Sons David and John. His will was proven at Pittsylvania Courthouse leaving much land and slaves: his library of books were to be divided between daughter Nancy and son John.
