JOHN HUNT

I am a Hattox/Coe researcher.  I am researching LUCREASY HUNT who married JOHN HUNT in Upson County, Georgia on 1 Jan 1829.

Lucreasy Hattox was the daughter of Moses Hattox and Rachel Coe of Upson Co, GA. She and John Hunt migrated to Gonzales Co, Texas ca 1849.  They had 4 children: Marion, Betty, James Monroe, and Elizabeth Hunt.  We only have documentation on James Monroe Hunt who is the only one of the children whom we have been able to accertain to have lived to adulthood and procreated.

The children of Lucreasy Hattox and John Hunt are listed by name in the LWT of Philip Hattox Coe (Lucreasy Hattox's brother who had moved to Texas and changed his last name to his mother's maiden name of COE).  Philip Hattox Coe died in December 1852. I am assuming that Lucreasy and John Hunt had died by that date as Philip left land to each of "my sister's children."

James Monroe Hunt married and remained in the area, dying there in December 1907. James Monroe Hunt stated on his application for a Confederate Pension in 1903 that he had lived in Gonzales County, TX since 1849.

Any information on this family would be appreciated.
